Thats not entirely True, i mean with the price for the memory you get with an ipod its hard to beat that price, my younger brother got an 20gig olympus camera/mp3 player for just under 300$ and it so cool, touch screen, sloppy camera, but great battery life, if the lighting and your not to fubar'd to hold the camera it works good.

You can also do remix's on this olympus thingie, its pretty cool..

6 GB Creative Zen Micro, was about $25 less then the 4 GB nano when I bought it? Please don't say Apple has a good price\free-space ratio because they don't.

They do have decent players though

So does my Motorola V710, but i dont think it compairs at all to an mp3 player , its only like 30mb with +128mb flash.... sound quality sucks, and so does trying to use it as an mp3 player,

Mine's the Samsung a950. It was specifically built to play mp3s, stream video, play video. The Quality is great. Even without the headphones the built in stereo speakers are impressive.

People only like iPods because its all over tv and its mainstream. It's not even that great. Mine ran out of power in 3 months. Now i have a 6GB Creative Zen Micro and its cheaper than the old iPod mini 4GBS and the sound quality is MUCH better. I didn't think I would hear any different, but I switched from Creative earphones to iPod earphones and there was an huge difference.

Its not even the earphones, its the overall sound quality from each device, the MRobe, is 10+ for sound quality, Despite the sound difference from device to device, i used to have a Samsung Yepp yp-30sh and it was soo great, paired with the first pair of "Silicon" ear phones my panasonic, they completley canceled the sound, and i loved it, but it wasnt quite big enough, and thats where i love the ipod, the size of the HD, and it usually behaves itself rather well.
