Also, a company this big would obviously do whatever it takes to make money, to continue doing what they've found successful. The Play Station 3, which everyone (Including Sony) knows is a huge risk, is a huge leap, and is most likely a test on Sony's part, you have to be some sort of idiot to believe their wont be a Play Station 4, 5, and maybe even further than that. It is simply just too much of a large market, which pulls in hundreds of millions a year, and that is not counting any other Sony products.

if u ask me playstations have always been a slight step behind. they have always had the biggest and best variety of games...but look at the ps1. its competitor...N64. the nintendo had bigger and better graphics with the 64 bit system compared to the ps1's 32 bit. then with the ps2 came its main competitor (a little later mind you) the xbox. the xbox itself blowing the ps2 away in graphics and capability. however, the playstation 2 still holds the best variety in games.
IMO, so far playstation has always been a slight step behind the competitors......either way sony itself will never fall, there is no way a corporation that large would ever die.
EITHER WAY....why waste ur money on all that crap when u can play computer??? MUCH better graphics, much better gameplay. biggest variety in games that there is, period. computers are just so much more customizeable.
the newest gaming systems are just computers anyway, but they have limits....why would u pay shitloads for a computer that can only do so much?? you may as well spend that money on a good gaming PC

Yes that is a good point about the graphics but the games that you bought were 15 to 20 dollars more than the Ps1 and Ps2 games. I remember buying some games for the n64 and they were 50 dollars and more. Also the Xbox really doesn't count in my book first of all i never really came out with any games that were any good in my opinion, second the games were expensive as hell, thats the one thing i like about Ps is that you have that variety of games which is what draws a lot of people to that system.
Also about using a computer instead i agree but what about games like FF7 you would have never have played that on a PC or Gran Turismo, GTA series, a lot of these games are not on a computer format, well then you could say an emulator but i haven't found one Ps2, GC or xbox emulator so there is a reason for these games to be popular.

There is a Very heavy fleet supporting the Ps3, and i dont think it will stop, You are completely wrong with compability, because only when i modded my xbox was when i stopped getting random errors, and when i did have it modded, it seleted a .bat or something file, so it couldnt load the Bios for the mod. on the flipside, ive never had a problem with my ps2, My ps2 has been flawless since i got it.. even after my brother fell onto it from a bunkbed. I support both consoles because i love the xbox controller now.

there has been alot of gta games. lik 5 main games, now their are doing some crap.
You should look at the comparison to halo1 to the first gta game for the original ps system.
Or maybe halo2 to xbox units and gta vice to ps2 units if you want

it seems to me that sony is taking the motion control the Wii is using, and the online experience of the 360, and making them at a lower standard and combining them to make the ps3. the price will drive people away, especially when the Wii's focus is to make the cost low and have it appeal to a broader gaming audience. i dont think sony will die from this but id be surprised if they werent well behind the Wii and 360. personally though, i dont think they can live much longer solely on those grand theft auto games...because after 5 or 6 versions of the EXACT same game even the morons who bought them all will realize its a waste.

They better come up with a better controller? If you haven't been reading about the console wars, they won over the crowd at E3, primarily because of their controller and their new way to look at gaming. Microsoft and Sony can battle it out to the death who can put the most expensive crap in their systems, I believe it's Nintendo that's going to come out on top, especially with the price differences. Also, another tidbit, EA, one of the biggest if not THE biggest 3rd party publisher, has publically stated that they back the Wii more than any other next-gen system, as well as Ubisoft, another great company, and even [SIZE=2]Hideo Kojima, creator of Metal Gear has expressed his appeal to the Wii, Solid Snake is a playable character in SSB: Brawl.

WII Has FREE Online Play. LOW PRICE & A CONTROLLER THAT WILL CHANGE THE GAMING. I say wii wins. Although I've always been a sony fan, it wont be until the prices go down til i get one
