I realise thread is really old but, sont will never go down from their games, it's a small part of a bigger company. Sony is known to most normal people (not gamers) for its TVs and other electronics.

I've got a Sony Ericson phone haha. They have good quality sound. Their new slider the W580i is pretty cool. I got the W810i.

I have both a PS3 and a 360. 360 has better games as of now but they only have like 3 I like and thats Halo obvisouly, Gears of War, and Cod4 which is on PS3 but PS3, really is a better system when u break it down.. If you are running on a standard tube tv, then you wont get the full expierence from a ps3 though, since it has better graphics and does come standard with a blu-ray player.. The online browsing is nice but most americans have a computer with internet so thats not a big issue.. You can assign 7 controllers to it. the only bad thing is they could have put more USB ports in it but oh well thats why they make hubs. Over all i think PS3 really outdid them selves.. people bitch about the price but hell, A standard blu-ray dvd movie player is like 500bucks, so ur getting a console gamaing system with a blu-ray for 400bucks now.. But if u have a tube tv then I would recomend 360 and Xbox has the online play down pat. PS3 is lacking on there online but they did alot better then it was with PS2 online

Wow, people don't post here much...

I think the 360 will do well in the coming year or so due to their exclusive titles and their updated dashboard options, but PS3's Home will be a force to be reckoned with. Once the PS3 gains some new exclusive titles and gets some new shooters, they will dominate the market. It's a more powerful system with a more spacious game disk. Companies will be able to go crazy with their games and not have to worry about a thing.

For instance: There's a agme that was announced in E3 a few days ago called MAG(Massive Action Game) that will put 128 players against another team of 128 players. It's a wartime shooter, looks sort of like Battlefield. Can you imagine 256 players in the same game? It's insane.

Maybe not in 2008, but I think by holiday 2009 the PS3 will be very close to catching 360. It's just a matter of time.

Here are the stats so far:
Xbox360: 19 million units sold.
PS3: 12.81 million units sold.

It's a definite gap, but PS3 can catch up, and Microsoft has lost billions of dollars due to the Red Ring of Death. Sony might be in better financial shape.

PS3 has always been superior in terms of power but with the inclusive of Netflix and Sony losing Final Fantasy XIII as an exclusive it's clear that 360 will remain ahead of the PS3.

For the short term. PS3 might not have the library of Netflix, but it will be gaining quite a few titles for its own movie rental system. And personally, I won't be using either, despite having both systems. Sucks you can't watch your own, *new* high-def movies on Xbox though, huh? Only Sony has Blue-ray.

I agree that FFXIII is a blow to Sony(and I still don't understand why they switched systems), but I think that in the long run PS3 might steal some exclusives from Microsoft.

One thing that Xbox cannot offer are the downloadable titles that PS3 can put up from the PS One(like Legend of Dragoon), or for people who are willing to pay more, the backwards compatability that will allow them to play their old titles again. They just need to do a price drop on their backwards capable 80gig PS3...

The Netflix on the 360 is far superior to the PS3's rental system. All you need is a Netflix account and an X-Box Live Gold membership and there are no additional charges. Yeah, so if you're already a member then it's free. You don't pay per movie.

Also, you play previous X-Box games on your 360 just have to download a patch (Just like the PS3, 80gb excluded). And they have titles for download but they also seem to be getting other games like Soul Calibur which was originally for Dreamcast.

In my opinion Hardware:
PS3>360
Features:
360>PS3

Features-wise, all the PS3 has over the 360 is Blu-Ray.

I agree(for now, until Home comes out), but the blue-ray thing is a pretty big feature. Especially considering the price of a blue-ray player.

They are cheaper now that it is the standard for HD, simple supply and demand. I'll get a PS3 eventually but right now it's just not worth it. Also, Home is ridiculously lacking.

:o Whatever do you mean? You can have your own room, display your own pictures in frames in your room, play your music, visit other people's rooms, design a cool avatar person, decorate your own space, have a trophy room to display your in-game achievements, browse software developers' areas, win extra items based on in-game achievements... For FREE. Where is it lacking?

It's lacking in creativity, as the new 360 dash is as well, and it's not going to make me want to spend $400.

Hey! so do i! i have the black version. The only thing gay about it is that u can't use Mp3's as ringtones unless u unlock the firmware.

also, aside from that...I have a ps3..its the 40gig model:S my original 60g had hardware failure and we could only exchange it for 40. I read somehwere here about FF13. Yes I agree, having
ff13 become multiplatform will cause sales for both systems to go up. But hey isin't that the point? Square - Enix wants to make alot of money. I personally think they should stay strong with Sony, like they did Nintendo till the PSX changed from an attachemnt for the n64 to an actual gaming system.

I thought FFXIII was going exclusive to X-Box 360?
