which pin count do u have/need?? and Kingston is a good brand name as well as corsair/ 512mb 400ddr is the choice unless u can fit the 240 pin count and then u can get 533ddr

ya, its all about the motherboard. different mothermoards will dictate what kind of ram you will use. most motherboards use 184 pin DDR SDRAM, while others use 240 pin DDR2 SDRAM

RD RAM? are you sure you didnt mean SD RAM? b/c RARAM is still being produced..

Shift-the easiest way to find out what kinda ram you have is to remove it from your computer and take a look at it. on the ram itself it will contain information such as pin number and speed

in order to remove the ram, follow these steps
dont worry about it being a manual from dell, it is all the same for computers

some where in your system diagnosis it should tell you the profle of everything in your computer... but i agree turn it off... take the case off .. pull it out.. read it then put it back.. or whatever the direction above better state..( i am careless with my stuff ill admit)

if you know your motherboard type or if its a dell,hp,etc. look up the name of it. its schematic should be online and that will tell you what type it can handle, if not, just shutdown, take a memory card out (no tools needed) and it will be on a sticker. my guess is that you have between a 1.1-1.8 gig system so you probably can handle up to a 184 pin and 400mhz. you should try finding gaming type of memory. you can find some for 80 on tiger direct that load clean

I bought it for 70, 40 dollar mail in rebait, so i only paid 30 for it. 512 MB, I really don;t do anything that would need anymroe than that.
