ok guys i got Dvd - and Dvd+ i try burning my downloaded movies and its says it burns but it doesnt look like it in the disk plus i tryied puttin it in my Dvd player and no dice. My questions is why?? and is there a good Dvd burnin program u can recommend?...

try using dvd shrink that works for me

sonic mydvd does the work for you and is easy to use. theres also IMToo dvd creator, superdvd creator and easy cd/dvd creator.

i tried mydvd and it says its 7gigs or somethin and i look at the file and its like 800megabites
i changed the file format of my movies from .avi to .mpeg that wouldnt make the file that size would it?

it will change filesize. but changing mpeg, avi etc to a dvd format gets larger. you'd be better off changing it to xvid avi format. it should fit just fine like that. a good program to change it is avs video editor. it lets you fiddle with the format and change it up. you can still get good quality with it. i tend to change it to avi/xvid and change the audio to 96kbits instead of the normal 128 and video to 23.498 instead of 24. you can also get away with changing the stereo format from 44100 to 32000. those little things cut about 10% off at most.

If your just converting xvid etc to dvd and burning i use VSO ConvertXtoDvd takes about 40mins to do a movie on my Core Duo laptop. The Program burns as well.

i have the same problemo, whats the best program u have come across to burn dvds?

i forgot to mention on sonic mydvd. theres an option on the lower left to set it to fit to dvd. that should prevent it from being 7 gigs lol.
