playing a song backwards

my friend told me that if you play stairway to heaven backwards by led zephlin and a few other songs it says something about satin or something like that. well, i'm not a big led zephlin fan but stairway to heaven is my gf's favorite song so i have it on my ipod/computer.

my friend told me to look in start>all programs>accessories>entertainment> and find an option called playback but i don't see it. is there any program that can take music files(its mp3 i think but i can change it if i have to) and play them backwards? because this actually interests me so i thought i'd try it.

yes there is.. and i remeber that is what you had to use to figure out coding for a puzzle called project evolution. but i dont know what the program is called.. ill ask my friend who got the program.

It sounds slightly speeded up. You know there are programs that let you rip, edit, and then restring parts of a song.

Iron Maiden was on trial for being accused of having a teennager commit suicide when he played the song backwards. They hired my dads friends brother (who is a very smart man) to represent them in court.

As his argument, he told the jury they would hear something happy (I can't remember exactly what, something like "Pink bunny rabbits in a green medow") as he played back the same song that they said made the kid commit sucide.

All of the jury heard what he had suggested, and he proved to the court that it is not the song, but the power of suggestion that makes someone hear demonic messages in songs when played backwards. Needless to say, Iron Maiden won the case.

The part in question that people say contains the message is one of my favorite parts in the song..

There was this psychologist/comedian guy who tours using this type of material. He explains that we hear what we want to hear. He'll play a song like Stairway to Heaven backwards first. Then he asks the audience what they heard. Usually, they respond with "I heard a Satan somewhere." However, he then explains the power of suggestion. On his little slideshow screen, he posts the lyrics that he wants the audience to hear; something like "666 Number of the Beast... Satan's running in the garden" or something of the sort. And the second time you hear the song backwards, you can actually hear those lyrics that he posted. It's pretty crazy.
