i use the d2 loader for pc all the time and its pretty much awesome but my school just gave everybody mac laptops to use and the d2 loader doesnt work on macs. does anyone now a loader that works with mac?

Currently, there is no d2loader for mac but you could ask onyler to make one for mac but there's a good chance he won't have time to make one for mac or because the code is too complicated for mac.

just run it from an image using a program or programs. or you can get game jackal and teach it the game and it will run without cd afterwards.
