i admin another site i know how rough it is to be looked up to all the time, and the insasiable to be perfect 24/7 and guess what, no one is despite what you hear

I admin a site for a clan. It is really active and takes a lot of effort to keep up. Certain members have to be put in certain groups. Certain posts have to be put in certain places. You have to do so much reviewing of threads and posts that you feel like tearing your eyes out. New skins and color schemes have to be made. Just a buch of stuff in order to keep up a forum. It's not like a web page, it is a lot more difficult and requires a lot of attention.
You can run....but you'll just die tired.

No need to start bickering about this. I would like to keep this thread alive as it has useful information in it.To bad it has some pointless posts as well.These I didn't delete to keep the flow of the dissemination of information intact.I personally would like to know who all has actually been/are a Mod at another site.If you have I would like to also know which site and the number of members.This is relevant to how difficult Modding is.D2 is a massive active site with many members as well as forums and sub-forums.We have our work cut out for us to say the least.If you are knowedgable...speak up.Many of you(yes I noticed) help out from the sidelines.
That is why reporting posts is vital to our being able to take care of problems.
We know that personality issues occure.This however is no reason to be abusive...and I mean ROUTINELY to other members.Its is also not a reason to throw the rules out of the window because A.)You just don't like that asshole B.) you want to increase your post count. C.) You have this insane need to post short barely relevant comments after EVERY SINGLE POST! [/rant]

i felt really sorry for you guys when the spambots came, i modded a clan forum that was attacked by spambots posting images from ...lemonparty (shudder). the worst thing was that the dumbass admin decided to have it so guests could post without signing up, and i didnt have the power to IP ban. >.<

Really? I managed to obliterate the last attack in ~15 seconds. Open up New Posts tab, tick boxes, go to the bottom, choose Delete, and *BAM* the moron's work has been pulverized in less than a quarter of a minute.

Yeah I was on during the first two "attack"'s, after that I was like I've had enough, idk how many more waves there are going to be, and I'm sure by now some other mods have noticed this.

I quit being a mod here because of PMs...I didn't find the job hard but I did find clearing out my PM box every day to be annoying as Hell. Then, since I was foolish enough to leave my messenger names public as well as e-mail i was pretty much overwhelmed there listening to nothing but forum issues. Pam, i gotta say I salute you for putting up with it the way you do.
