Wii VS PS3

The Wii and Ps3 are fighting it out for second place, right? Since the Xbox360 is definatly the best of the systems. Wii comes in second. And in, a very distant, last place is Ps3. Sony just screwed up this time. They had no clue what they were doing. Constantly trying to update the ps3 before launch and trying to say that "Your buying a comupter not a console." Even though they said a year before that that the 360 was a computer and not a console.

How is the 360 "definately the best"? If it's you're opinion, that's cool, but don't don't try to pass that off as fact.

It's in the lead so far. As of right now it's on top, making it best. Not saying it will stay there for the next 4-5 years, and I hope Wii beats it out, but as of know its doing the best of this generation. And I know the 360 came out an entire year before its rivals.

It's doing the best. That's not the same as being the best.

We all should know why it's doing the best at the moment.

I don't know how you can make it sound like sony did so wrong. They made a spectacular system with many years on the market.
You have short memory if you think that 360's launch was perfect. Remember all of the overheating problems? And what about all of the glitches in the launch games.

I'm not even talking about launch, I was talking about before launch and after it. None of the systems are glitch free. Ps3 has freezing glitches, as did 360 while tyring to max out the cores. And even Wii has a problem, although not with the hard/software, but with the remote. But who would have guessed how excited people would get while playing the Wii.

I don't think that after the inital excitement over the controller is over, it won't really be that big of a deal since the hardcore gamers will always flock to the system with the best graphics.
If you were talking about the ps3 after the launch then you would realize that it is an amazing system with many possiblities. i like my 360 don't get me wrong, but the ps3 is superior in many ways.

not sure if u know but ps3 are overheating. and the 360 timing wasnt perfect but it was smart. any gamer would agree wit me. like if the 360 came out later near the ps3 and wii time, how many ppl would buy it. and if u think about sony, it took like 7 years to keep up wit microsoft technology and it only took a couple years 2 go from xbox 2 hd 360. honestly do u think sony would have made thier system hd if microsoft didnt? i dont think they would have. ive always been a nintendo fan. always been a gameplay>graphics

thats great but lets keep this in mind. Microsoft is 80% computers to start off with. therefore their technology would be better. Sony is based all around and makes many different products other than gaming systems. PS3 still offers better game titles in my opinion

I took that pic at my local Walmart in Taylorsville on the 27th. Two days AFTER Christmas. That says something.

You still skip over the fact that 360's launch systems were hugely flawed because their system overheated just because they wanted to unit to be quiet? LOL its 100 times louder than the ps3...it makes no noise. My ps3 has never had one problem, and neither has my two friends that own one also. There is no problem with heat...its not like a widespread problem which almost prompted Microsoft to recall all the launch units because of litigation against them...Or do you not remember that either? For a computer company they sure do not know how to put hardware together...Sonys plan the whole time was to make it HD, and the reasons they had the ps2 out for so long was because it has high and above the better system for many years. Buy the time xbox caught up the race was already over long before...Sony wanted to make sure that the blu ray was viable to the market before they launched the unit, which was a great idea...In stead of rushing out a console with no real world testing like what happend to the 360. The fact that they have an add-on for HD is an embarrasment for the simple fact that it makes it look like an old commodore 64..lol.
You also left out the fact that 360 isn't HDMI compatible, which is the only way to get pure 1080...
Gameplay is important but no way in MOST gamers eyes is it more important than graphics, and total memory to make long engrossing games with wonderful physics engines...which the wii will never have

So, your say that MOST gamers would rather play a video game that pleasing to the eyes but mildly fun to play over a game that is extremly fun even if it is lacking in graphics? I'm not say PS3 to Wii, just any game. I dont really think thats right. It is the kind of games that will be put out on the Ps3 that will actract people

But yesterday my friend went to Best Buy to buy a Xbox360, and we got there at opening. There were several people already waiting when we got there including a father and his son. There was a crude poster that said "We have PS3s!!!!!!" When the doors opend the people that were there before us ran inside. They ran to the back, completly passing up the table of PS3s. I hear the man ask on of the workers is they had any Wiis in stock. Then when we were at Gamestop a while later, one of the people that was waiting in front of Best Buy asked the person behind the counter if they had any Wiis in stock. I find that funny, that although the PS3 was extremly limited in ammount of consoles you can find it now. While with the Wii, it had a very large ammount of consoles and can still be hard to find.

No what I am saying is Graphics is always a huge draw to gamers. There is not one gamer that will be satisfied with gimmicky gameplay forever when they look at how crappy the graphics are on the Wii. I mean why not just go and buy and N64 again?
The wii is popular with the kids I get that. And if you look around, you cannot find a ps3. People are still killing to get those. Second of all the unit is 600$ You don't see people rushing to buy the 360 when it is readily available either so your argument is puzzling....Rushed right past the table...LOL....Did they rush past the 360 table also?
I haven't seen one store that has had a wii in stock since a week before Christmas. They have not gotten any so Nintendos claim of numbers has been hugely exaggerated.

jord have you even played on a wii, i have a friend that dislikes the wii but plays it non-stop when i bring it, there major prob was a gfx but that aint stoping them from playing it for hours on end now is it?
the demand for the wii has been overly high so you cant expect every store in your area to have it in stock

well at least nintendo is pulling out all the stops to make wii's more available.
i checked at a local EB games and they said that they are getting around half a dozen wii's weekly now. for the ps3.. its like 3 in 2 weeks

I have played a wii, and like i said before the novelty wears off on it in about 5 mins. Like I said in a previous post playing Wii sports is a game I could see playing when I am sitting around getting drunk with friends on a weekend. It is not something that I would be interested in the long run. I am not a huge fan of "party" games. I like to play RPG, action adventure, and that sort of game. And those games will never be as good as games in the same genre on the 360, or ps3.

And of course there are more available, they are a cheaply made unit that has a simple chip in it. They are way easier to assemble and make than the 360, or ps3.

the wii sports is alot like guitar hero 2 that i recently played. and both are EXTREMELY addicting. the novelty doesnt wear off.. i can tell you that. while hanging out with friends we have played for hours non stop on both things. and the best thing is that it invovlves other people. you are no longer by yourself, sitting on the couch, your rocking away or swinging away

now heres the most vital differance between sony/microsoft and nintendo
nintendo doesn't make there own gfx cards,processing chip,etc they need to buy them from others and since sony and microsoft both produce there own stuff they have that edge unlike nintendo its not that there stuff sucks it's that there unable to procure the needed items to compete with sony or microsoft

and for the record a lightbulb company surrving for so long is a great feat for nintendo and what they have done :p

what makes you think that microsoft and sony all produce thier own chips and stuff? there are alot of third parties that do that stuff for them. there is no way they they make everything themselves. they have contracted out different parts of the machine to different people.
