Computer Problems help ASAP

hey guys well i got my christmas money and i start buyin upgrades for the computer, so i bought a LED Fan and a Stealth ATI Radeon 7000 64MB graphics card well i shut down the computer to put in the graphics card and that went fine but i went to turn it back on and it did nothin, i have no idea what went wrong i was wonderin if anyone else does. i checked the power cords switched em, switched the motherboard, still nothin so maybe the power supply is broke?

one way to see if it is your power supply is to dry run it. you can do this by using a paper clip and jumping two pins.

try your old card again and see if that works. but it just sounds like you have a dead psu

Yea thats what i thought i'm just going to put in a older power supply seenin as a spent all my money. but why did it decide to break the second i put the graphics card in?

why dont you try opening your bios, and making sure the new gfx card is the one that is the one being used

i think you have to do this for it to work

Did your computer boot up but you got a black screen? Or did nothing happen at all?

If everything is dead and not coming on, maybe you fried something important (always ground yourself when handling computer parts!)

meh, frying something is pretty hard.. static isnt too much of an issue, but ya, just as a precaution, touch something metal, like your case

i did, the only thing i havent changed yet is the power supply so it gotta be the power suply it happen to me 3 other times on diff comps
