Does anyone actually know what happens when a game desynchronizes? I have a theory, but I don't know if it's true or not.
When you join a game, the game server you are connecting to asks all the other game servers if your character is currently in any of their games, and if you aren't it opens that magnificent door with blinding light behind it and lets you in. If you are, the door stays shut and you fail to join.
When you are duping though, the game server of your first character is so laggy that when your second character tries to join a second game server, the first doesn't respond to the second when it asks if your character is in any games in there. The connection times out and the 2nd server gives you the benefit of the doubt and lets you in.
Sound plausible?
