This idea was spawned from the thread about the guide to the noob. In this thread, we will evaluate many commonly used words on the internet, starting with the word: Nub.

1.nub

one who sucks at a particular video game, they are not new to the game, but possess some determent that prevents them from playing well, no matter how long they practice playing the game.
synonyms- a Dan Wood, noob, ******, newb
antonyms- an Alex, elite, 1337, leet
Boy 1: OMG a triple kill! I own at this game!

Boy 2: None of them were moving you nub?!


2.nub

official definition: a internet acronym, similar to "noob". HOWEVER, whilst a NOOB is someone who is lame/idiotic because he is new, a NUB is someone who has had the opportunity to learn something new, but never did, and is therefore idiotic/stupid.

3.nub

if you use this word or others like leet hacker **** and pwn...you get home from school or work if you even bother to shower that day and you get on the computer and play computer games for hours upon hours you also think you sound really awesome when you call people such things as nublets and ****ies...you need to step away from the computer and into the social world. realize that everybody gets pissed off when freaks like you say these things. just stop. this is my advice.

Acronym for Non Useful Body. A newly reported personel to a navy warship, who is not yet qualified to operate any of the equipment, but is still entitled to food and air priveledges. Due to the large number of single sailors, nub has been used heavily and adopted by online gaming communities to refer to any new, unskilled person.
Round up a couple nubs to clean the head.

Hey nub, quit watching the tv and go qualify something!

According to "Animosity", the definition of the word "nub" is:

"nub = newb, ******, noob
This word is not from dumbasses who can't spell, but its from a game called Ultima Online. A Guild of rollplayers called the Shadow Orcs developted an orcish language based off english, changing a few 1337 speak words as well. Hence, Nub=noob in Shadow Orc.

However, he is incorrect. While the word "nub" did originate in Ultima Online, it was the Shadow*clan* Orcs who coined it, as part of their invented language, based on the Black Speech of J.R.R. Tolkien. It actually stands for the word "no", much like the word "yub" stands for "yes". See "www.shadowclan.org/ siegeperilous" for more information on this subject.

A sub-noob. Worse than a noob. More idiotic and stupider than a noob. Someone you want to stay away from at all costs.
