wait, what are you talking about? like using your tv monitor instead of a lcd screen? if you want to do that, then you need a tv card. but it depends on your tv as well. if it is one of those advanced lcd ones, then it may have vga or dvi connections.

ok, in order to find out what video card you have, follow these steps.
1. click start
2. click run
3. type in "dxdiag"
4. click OK
5. it should pop up a window that has your computer specifications on it. click on the tap that says display. in that tab it will say what your video card is etc.
vga or d-sub is the cable that connects your monitor to your computer. yours should be vga. its blue in color and screws into the back of your video card. (or mother board if your have an integrated one).
try to find the same for your tv. what you have right now sounds like digital connects. thats not what your looking for.

ok.. it sounds like you have an integrated video card. chances are you wont be able to hook up your tv to your computer. well if you tv has the same connections as your monitor, then you can via a KVM (keyboard video mouse) switch

It helps if you include the models of both your PC/Laptop and TV.
Maybe, your laptop/pc already have an SVIDEO output on it. Mine does. Or like other posts above says, maybe your TV has VGA input also. Mine does as well.
Some Video cards support TV out directly through VGA port function. I believe most Riva TNT Videocards have this feature. In this case, you can get a $5 cable to do this ..Just Google "VGA to S-Video"
