Chris Hansen's How to catch a predator.
#1
Is it just me, or does this show seem cruel. I mean, alright, they're child molesters practically, but do you really need to ruin their life? Arrest them, do whatever, but when their family/parents or boss sees them on this show... What do you think would happen? Their life is ****ing OVER.

I've heard multiple comparisons of this kind of crime... It's like if someone offers you beer, and you're underage, and you've never had it before so you don't know what it tastes like... If you drink it are you in trouble for underage drinking?

The girl on the show is ALWAYS over 18.

What does everyone else think?

Personally i think its hilarious.
They caught the same guy on two different occasions. Apprently it didnt effect him all that much if he was at it again.
These guys are putting themselves in the limelight with full knowledge that what they are intending to do is legally and morally wrong.

Yes, let it screw up their lives. because they dont care weither or not it screws up the young victim :/
You said so much without ever parting your lips.

Ah, by the way I miss-typed that comparison, it's if someone offers you "beer" which is really just some gross tasting water or something.

I take it you have no children? I also gather that you are unaware this is not treatable. I have never seen this show but am aware of the impact of child molestation. You DO realize(I hope) Kids that are REALLY molested are afraid to come forward.

Yes I think their life should be ruined. They have ruined someone elses...good luck in jail sunshine...wave to Bubba for me.

I think it is great.

The girl is eightteen but that is not the point. They lead the men on to think it is a fifteen year old or somehing and they attempt to come have sex with a little girl. Yes their life should be ruined because they are sick ****s.

I have a little story I want to share with you...

My friend's cousin got in trouble at school for having weed and when she got caught she came forward and said her stepfather molested her as a child. He was arrested and took a plea deal for like four years because she would not testify. Personally I don't believe he molested her for a few reasons...

She said it just to get out of trouble. Once she said it she went right back to her old ways.

She acted like a whore. I heard she was having sex with so many guys and she is pregnant... She is sixteen years old, time to grow up and try to support a child she can't afford. Her mom is on welfare living in a Section 8 (thats the name right?) house on a really shitty side of town. (Because I forgot... I am pretty sure that on most people being molested makes them sexually insecure.)

It is pretty hard to tell either way but I honestly don't believe her. I do not know why I told this story it just felt like it fit in it's own way here.
Give us this day our daily bread, your legacy we'll not forget. Lick the wounds and cleanse the land, the modern world rejects your hand... Sinister rouge coming back for more to even the score! --- Bad Religion

First off I have never seen this show you speak of.
Ok...second off you analogy doesn't make sense. You are comparing someone who is willfully seeking out an underage person to someone who accidentally drinks a beer. That if completely different.
It does not matter if the girl is over 18. It only matters if he expects someone underage.

I realized I didn't type the correct analogy.

I agree with tap. They are taking a chance of getting caught while they ruin some younger childs life and have them physically insecure, making them turn gay or into a molester themselves, and they will just do it again the next week. Sick people that ruin other peoples lives deserve to have the same thing done to them.

Molesters will always exist.... if they are caught ...yeah screw up their life.
The only ones I think are unjustly screwed are those falsely accused...even then you gotta wonder......especially with 3 or 4 accusations.

Lol, I love how she always makes some random ass drink. "Hey! Here's some Mango Tango Peach Jamba Mamba fruit shots! I'm going to get changed." That's usually how it works. Which makes me think, do the producers really take the time to make a drink that actually tastes good? I wonder if the guys like "What the **** is this? Tastes like piss."

Afterwards the guy is always like "Damn I've seen this show on TV all the time, I even Tivo it!" as if it'll make them like change their mind and let them go. They deserve to just be slapped there.

I agree my brother-in-law was a truck driver and his internet activity monitored, his computer confiscated, and he was prosecuted and now in prison for trolling sites with little girl images. His life is pretty much marked and he has to register as a sexual predator.
