ok call me a noob and all, but i dont really see a need to go water cooling. honestly, all your doing is moving the heat from one location to another. the fan and pump both generate noise. IMO, all you need is one kick ass heatsink, like the TT CL-P0114 120mm CPU Cooler, or ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink. is the heat transfer rate of water that much better? but even then, you transfer the heat to water, then to the air again. you lose efficiency.

watercooling could drop temps 15-30c

watercooling beats aircooling thats for sure

i have mass aircooling and it still sucks

here is my temps
my cpu runs at 29c idle and like 35 maybe full load.. and thats overclocked from 2.6ghz to just under 3ghz

mb is also around 29 to 30c

gpu (video card) runs 40-45c idle and around the same gaming

no stock coolers here

but i mean from a scientific stand point, does the water really pick up that much heat? and then is able to release it more readily then air?

yes, i think water is 4 times as efficent at dissapating heat.

People with my proc on watercooling oc it to 5 ghz all the time, i got it to 4ghz on air with my duct system, but 4.36 was the limit for air

BTW, having the whole watercooling assembly inside the case kicks ass, no need for bulky ugly noisy pumps on the outside, they make em where they fit in the case. Wink

Considering that is a Pentium 4, and I think I read Prescott somewheres, that is pretty impressive. But no way on earth could that CPU even hold a light up to this...

And guys, please, don't be fooled by the clock speed... I have doubts that CPU could perform aswell as a Intel C2D E4300 @ 1.8GHz, shit... I had a Pentium D 805 @ 3.8GHz and my new E4300 @ 1.8GHz spanked it.
