Perm Myths

I'm just asking about some of the "ways" I've heard over the length of my D2 Career of how to perm duped items. So, I'm leaving it up to you guys to set these straight.

1) If you have a duped item, and you socket and insert a rune/jewel, it is permed.

2) If you have a duped item that is already socketed and you unsocket and resocket, it's permed.

3) If you sell a duped item to a merchant, and buy it back, it's permed.


These are the 3 that I've come across that I haven't tried, maybe you guys can provide some input. I was just too unsure to try these. Hopefully you guys know something I don't.

i think the third is false.
im 99% sure 1st is right.
if 1 is right, 2 should be right.

but i heard that if you personalize an item, it becomes perm.


nothing is safe against a major rust-storm though.

I'd heard the personalizing one too, but there's no point in personalizing a item such as an armor or shield because chances are your going to socket it. And because they patched duping doesn't mean the items that were duped aren't still floating around.
