Help. Direct Draw error

My gf installed d2, and she gets this error when she tries to play it. She said she redownloaded direct whatever numerous times, and tried uninstalling and reinstalling a few times too. Please help.

A few things you might want to try.

I would probably start out with a repair.

• Uninstalling, delete the old files before reinstalling.
  
• Since DirectDraw is a component of videos, try reinstalling divx and/or direct x.
  
• Sometimes The directDraw component in the diablo 2 game could of errored. try reinstalling diablo 2.

you could try running "dxdiag" to see what errors are occurring w/ your machine. use search to find, should be in program files folder.

Try switching it to 3d from 2d.

i got the same problem, says i need directx but i install it and it just keeps saying the same thing, btw, i got a new hard drive, that migh tbe the prob
