Hello All,
I have just joined your forums, and have been playing Diablo, Hellfire and Diablo2 since they existed. I am glad to finally have a place to read all your cool FAQ's and stuff.
I have never hacked, used hacks or cheats or anything, until very recently. I found a sight where you could download zip and .d2s files. Some of it is really cool, but some of the hacks are so over the top I do not understand them. Anyways, one of the zips opens to a character named "Korina", A level 82 sorceress and I was curious to what she may have had equipped and whether or not she was tweaked.
When I unzip the file and play. I can see her fine, in original (not LOD) mode, but I get the message "Unable to enter game, bad character version". Is there anyway to fix this or does this mean someone hacked her wrong?
I plan on very soon playing on-line again like I used to in the old days, until then I need to get back into the swing of things, and am looking for regular LOD cool stuff uniques, set items and things to play and have fun with, with my kids.
If anybody out there has any .d2s or zip files please send them if you don't mind my kids and I mixing and matching etc...
I am personally looking for Tal-Rasha's stuff and whatever the best set items are for a Paladin and Sorceress.

It means that one of your character has items that isn't the same version of the items you find (I.E. transferring an item from Median and putting it on normal or have an expansion item on regular) or having an item that has something thats impossible (a helm socketed 4 times in some cases) or just an item that has an item that has a mod that D2 doesn't like.

Thanks for writing back. As this is from a zip that gave me the .d2s, I have no idea what this charcater has on them, and I know nothing of hacking or even how to figure out what is there to fix it.
Is there anything I can look at in a code or line, to repair this .d2s?
If not then I will just delete it. I did get many other good .d2s's that are all cool and have some items I can use with my characters.

Aah. People are always very courteous the first time they join the forums. I think I remember my first time. I always said thanks and please. Take time to learn Hero Editor. First you start off just maxing out everything to have fun, but then you will learn how to make some godly godly gear. >=]

Actually the sockets thing is fine.
I remembered that time i was using some armor with 2 sockets...and each jewel gives 30 more sockets or something lol

Thanks to all who wrote. I will take my time and learn her editing. Thanks for the links. As far as being nice and stuff, well, I must confess in the past (old days) when Diablo was big and D2 brand new, I might not have been so nice, I jsut liked slicing and dicing all I could.
For about a year and a half I have been playing VMK (virtual Magic Kingdom) with my kids and friends, and I think it made me nicer (lol) 
Haha, well today I started back on the Ladder, my paladin is a whopping level 7. Only 92 levels to go!!
I will TRY to stay nice and polite, but no guarantees.

For Now to begin with, I am playing a Paladin, still not sure which way I want to go with the skills yet, been a while, and I have tried many variations before, so for now I am saving up them points as much I can except for basics I know I will need anyways.
I am playing West realm ladder, only at level 11 right now. Would like to be higher, but unfortuneatley, my time is spread pretty thin right now, eventually though I know I will be on all the time (well, as much as my family will let me haha)
If I am on my game is title BNW.
Thanks for all the help. I still have not tried Hero Editor, and need to try to work on how to open to D2 characters on same PC. No hurry though on those.
