Yeah and probably still come out cheaper than paying someone to wire that length. Also you can move your computer wherever you want without the limitations of a wire.

I have a computer like 35 yards away from mine and it has excellent signal. And theres like 5 walls between here and there.

Ty for the tips. As I might switch to DSL, I might switch to wireless but the hassle to buy a adapter doesn't benefit for me. As if I switch to dsl, I might be saving about $15 per month for speeds a little lower but I am a time consumer so it's still high speed internet. Problem is since I don't have a phone jack in the room for the PC, setting it up to use wireless might take some time to use it. As wireless is a little slower caused by interference, I might make the decision in the near future.
Thank you all. I will have to compare the benefits.

You don't have to have the computer near the phone jack with a router. Thats the beauty of it. You can set up your modem and router in a completely different room.

Its all a matter of personal preference. Cable is good but bandwidth is limited by your neighbors use. And you can put a password on your router so others cannot connect to it.
