I have PS 7 on my computer. Is there a way to organize it to make it more user friendly for myself. For example, I have tons of brush sets I have downloaded, is there a way to organize these so when I want a certain brush I don't have to go through a dozen sets to find the one I want because I couldn't remember where I saw it...? Same with fonts. The fonts don't show as the 'font', it just gives me the name so I have to go through them until I find the one I want...
Thanks for any suggestions that might help organize it a bit.

Keep The brushes you use in a folder, and when you want a particular set use Load brushes, And reset the brushes after you have used them, and want to move onto a next set. i don't know about the font thing, It shows up on certain version of ps but i don't think it's compatible with 7.

Do you mean a different folder then what they are in? I guess what I was hoping to do was to be able to see all my brushes in a thumbnail list so I knew what I wanted to use. I have about 50 different sets right now, each set has between 10 and 50 brushes in it...

aren't you able to see them all in the thumbnail dropdown list when you choose them in photoshop? thats how i always remembered it being on PS7, although i'm currently using CS3 so i can't be sure.
what aemaeth meant was to keep each brush set in a different folder, so that when you open up photoshop and go 'hmm i wanna use a brush from set 'XYZ'', you load up the folder containing the set and have a much better overview, rather than having to sort through ALL of your brushes.

What I see in the drop down list is a list of all the sets I have. I can then open a set to see what brushes are in it. What I was trying to do, if I can, is to see ALL brushes in the list, rather then the sets...like, can I export them somehow?

Well you could make a folder for each type of brush like Abstract, Grunge, Tech... and so on.
For fonts I'm not sure because its in your windows folder.

you can also make a new brush set that is all of your favorite brushes. just make a big square then take the brush you want to save and set your opacity and flow to 100% while using the default brush size that the brush opens up to. keep the mouse still and press the left click like 2 or 3 times or until you get a nice dark brush. the go edit/save brush preset, name it, save the brush set as what ever name you like. continue this as much as you want and eventually you will have a set of your favorite brushes.
as for the font issue. font preview didn't come out until cs2. so you can either upgrade or click on the top font bar and scroll through them one at a time with your type selected.

It's alot different but you can compile filters into what they call "script-fu" and itll run them all according to how you set it up. Also it has a tool that will automatically isolate an image from its backgrounds making easy to pull a render out of an image. It's also really good for web design as you can just type in text in the logo generator and tell it wha tyou want it to look like, alien glow, crystal, glass, fire, ice, etc.

Run ubuntu linux 7.10 gutsy in a dual boot or try it in virtual box. IF you have an old comp it will make it run 50X better anyway.
