A really deep conversation I had on Meebo
#1
I met this random fellow on Meebo from India and started talking to him.... It turns out I had one of the deepest conversations I have had in a few months with him. I have to share it for privacy's sake I'll be editing out names.

I am orange timestamps he is blue.

[23:13] hi
[23:13] I really do enjoy conversatons like these... I hardly ever get to have them.
[23:14] : me 2 happy to speak ppl like u...
[23:14] : O
[23:14] : err
[23:15] : I'm glad, I like to keep an open mind. I want to change the world if you know what I mean.
[23:15] : ya
[23:16] : i know lot of injustice goin on....do u think dat u can do smethin?
[23:17] : Not at this point in my life... Honestly, I don't know if ever in my life , but it will always be my mission to make everyone equal. I don't want the world to be colorblind just happy with diversity and willing to be peaceful.
[23:18] : but y most of americans are not like that...
[23:18] : There's something you have to understand... Most American's have lost faith in their ability to change things. That is something that should have never happened.
[23:18]: few days ago one nobel prizewinner said ther is difernce inintellctual abilities b/w balck and white....
[23:19] : Yeah, I heard about it... I don't know about that really. We are all humans.
[23:21] : My belief is that we all originated from the same place... Maybe evolution maybe something else but honestly I don't care about our origins. I care about the history we have recorded as humans, and not repeating it. I would rather look toward the future than to dwell on something we cannot answer.
[23:23] : but still americans are killin innocent ppl around the world....hope that ppl like u will one day over come them...
[23:24] : I hope so too. We get involved in to many affairs that aren't our business, and it is never motivated by "the good of this party" it is all about the money that comes from it.
[23:25] : nice talkin to u....
[23:25] : gtg for next hour...cath u later..
[23:25] : Yeah you too, we'll have to talk again.
[23:25] : Peace to you good friend.

I wish I could have gotten the first half of the conversation as it was just as good.

It didn't seem as deep as I would thought lol. I'm a person that believes in the government though. Just an opinion. It relates to the thread right? You were talking about how America is killing innocent people.

Well you really can't blame him... Honestly look at all the USA has done to Muslim's over the years. It is a wonder they didn't start fighting us until 9/11.

1. As one of the founding nations of the UN we gave Israel to the victims of the Holocaust without giving a second thought to Palestine.
2. We have always taken Israel's side in wars they have had over Palestine... They just want their land back and they are justified in it.
3. Now we invade 2 predominantly Muslim countries and set up our own government, but I have yet to hear of Muslims being happy about it... Maybe Afghanistan but not Iraq.
4. American's in the USA seem to be afraid of Muslim's... Quite a few people, especially young people, seem to think that all Muslim's are terrorists.

Earlier in the conversation he said something to me that someone told him that not all Muslims are terrorists but all terrorists are Muslims... I don't know where this person is from that he was talking about but it is safe to assume it was India. India is a big ally of ours so their press probably puts the same spin on the war as our's, not to mention the conflict that has been going on over Kashmir for years with Pakistan.

If you don't see why so many Muslims are afraid of the world currently you are blind. Most of them want peace not the ongoing conflicts they seem to be involved in. Every one of them I have talked to don't seem anything like the "terrorists" you are always hearing about. "Terrorists" are a minority that give them a bad name.

I just think it is sad that he actually told me he was afraid of coming to the USA after he got out of college. Noone should be afraid, but it is obvious that he will be profiled against and stereotyped by everyone here because of the war that has given everyone a "view" on Islam.

Let's say you are right for a second on how bad America is. You talked about how the press is putting a spin on the war? If they are, its for the anti-war peoples advantage, cause all I hear is a bunch of people complaining that we're still in Iraq or whatever trying to help the people set up a government for a gain in some area for them. I won't try to know whats going on, cause I hardly pay attention to this shit, I live for the moment, but I can tell you that half the stuff I hear in the news is BS.

Besides, I thought there was a certain terrorist group that Americans where going after. That were potentially all muslims. Isnt there a certain group that reside in that certain area?

And you/her saying anyone would not be welcome is BS, my High School is the most diverse high school there is, I've been getting people from Tajikistan and other places and instantly being welcomed and made friends right away.

I never said the USA was bad.... You're typing things I never typed.

BlueBleeder Wrote:I hardly pay attention to this shit

You really shouldn't try talking about current events if you don't pay attention or care.

That may be true but in my part of the country it is different. I don't know what region you live in but here I hear kids making fun of Muslims all the time. Grown adults do as well. I only call it as I see it.

As for the spin on the war... It's just whatever the Bush administration has up it's sleeve to try to get his approval rating higher that week. Usually this entails statements about how well the war is going. I honestly don't think we've made a bit of progress since we've been there.... but that's me.

Well yeah you didn't alright say it, but how you were saying the U.S. tends to be, you are leaning that way.

Thats probably because of the comedians, however your city should know whats real and whats not.

I can't disprove this so for the moment, that's true, however, I do think we made progress. Establishing a government aint easy though...
