What is a man?
Is a man someone who tortures animals because they do not fight? Is a man someone who flips off his own fans becuase he loses a game? Is Michael Vick a man? Does he deserve prison or worse?
In my own opinion he is a coward. I hope he is brutally raped in prison and never gets to play in the NFL again. No man tortures animals, if you want to watch fights get a boxing ring and get in yourself or better yet watch or do MMA. Michael Vick is scum, or worse even. He deserves worse than 23 months in prison. He should be shocked, tortured, and drowned like the dogs he did this stuff to. Scum of the earth.

anything over 1 year is overkill

I think he should serve his full 5 years for being so dumb as to have gotten caught up with this. "I'm not guilty" as his name is most of the dog fighting magazines. Not sure which brother is more retarded Micheal or Marcus. Coming from an area of poverty to have the chance to be a millioniare, then just throw it all away like it means nothing. I don't get how people can defend people like this and say the punishment is too harsh. The man tortured animals and then forced them to fight and kill each other, he deserves to be shot. It's just like the shit with Chris Beniot with people saying, "Awww he was such a great man and I can't believe it. Rest in peace Chris!" THE MAN MURDERED HIS FAMILY. Anyone who defends and weeps for these people's "misfortunes" should be shot along with them.

I cannot believe you just said that.I think 23 months is NOT EVEN CLOSE to long enough. He should of gotten atleast 15 years. And why should pit bulls be extinct? they have just as much right to be here as we do.

I Think michael vick is a Scumbag But i dont think he should get almost 2 years for what he did. I have killed atleast 2-3dogs i would be rather pissed if someone said i had to serve jail time for this. This has already ruined his NFL career + cost him Assloads of money But why give him 2 years on top of it. Id much rather see michael vick in a Ring Vs all his bred pitt bulls

Yea, Vick should of gotten more but he also gets three years of supervised probation following his release from prison. Chances are he infact ruined his entire NFL career.

Actually pitbulls are not bred to attack humans. It is in there nature to be aggresive toward other dogs. Which is why in pitbull fights the owners commonly stand within feet of the fighting dogs.
Id prefer to see him put into a ring with a polar bear with nothing more than a stick (so atleast he can piss the bear off enough to kill em with a passion)

Purposefully torturing animals that cant stand up for themselves is wrong. It's almost like telling a 2year old he has to kill some other 2 year old.

Steroids or not he still murdered his family, and I was just using it as an example...I personally have no sympathy for any of them other than the real victims like Chris' family and the animals Vick tortured.

i do not know what the sentencing guidelines are for cases like these, and in no way do i condone what he did. but for those saying that he deserves to be shot or raped, think about who is the less of a man. you are. you want worse than what he did to animals done to him? that is despicable.

Let me ask you this, how come **** Chenney can shoot wild game while Michael Vick cannot hurt pitbulls. I know that what Michael Vick did is really wrong, but how come hunters do not get jail time for hurting innocent wild animals

Wild game requires a permit to hunt and that permit costs money, they are also a protected species therefore you can only get 1 or 2 a year.

It's despicable? You know many of those dog fights are to the death? So, he did in fact cause the death of many of those animals and specifically trained them to be killers. You're trying to pull one of these, "man is the real monster" kind of deals and you're failing miserably. This isn't King Kong...this is a poor excuse for a human being taking advantage of suffering.
Saying that what we would like to do to Vick is like saying that people who keep others as slaves should only get a slap on the wrist. If someone took in a human being and tortured them and even made them fight for their lives against other slaves, would he warrant the death penalty? I'm sure you'd have a difference of opinion since those are humans being used like that. It's this double standard bull shit that makes me hate having debates with people like this.
