Hey,
everytime I try to start the Loader it tries to open the D2 Window but fails after some seconds and goes back to the desktop. I have the original cd inside my CD-Rom, the full installation of d2+lod and I copied the required .mpq files inside the D2-folder. Can anyone help me ?

are you sure you followed all the steps in how to set it up? try re-installing it.

Yep I'm sure I did it right. I reinstalled D2 + the D2Loader... no change. Still the same problem.

Game.exe is corrupt,most likely.Try downloading d2loader again(make sure you have the latest version).Also if your using loader,why is the cd-rom in the drive?Loader is super simple to use,just make sure you copy the new exe into d2 folder(overwrite the old one,but back it up in a seperate location first.)Then send a shortcut from the new exe to desktop,and use the new shortcut to launch.BTW you should update diablo by connecting to battle.net before you install the loader .Good luck and if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Ok I did that, still the same problem. I searched for solutions for this problem for 2 days now... I guess there is no solution, I am doomed ;(

Did you update diablo before you used the loader?If you did,you will have to uninstall diablo,then go through regedit and clean everything related to blizzard,d2,battle.net,ect.then reinstall diablo,update it,then install the loader.I had to do this once way back when I first started using loader.The trick is to completely clean all registry entries,before you reinstall.Get the game working properly from cd before you install the loader.

Is that why a person would have an error of it not indentifying the right application version?
