More on WoW 2.4: Fear Ward to become usable while in Shadow Form

The survivability of casters, shadow priests most especially, in World of Warcraft has always been an issue, especially in PvP. It looks like patch 2.4 will bring an interesting new change, however, as shadow priests might just be able to cast an extra spell while in Shadow Form: Fear Ward.

The idea was originally posted on a thread by Omnipotence of Azgalor, who was proposing some ways in which shadow priests could have their survivability enhanced.

Bornakk chimed in, however, suggesting and then accepting the proposal he made for Shadow Priests to use Fear Ward while in Shadow Form. "Maybe being able to use Fear Ward while in Shadow Form would help? Yeah, I like this idea, we'll roll with it in the next patch," writes Bornakk.

Overall, the limited, yet useful ability of Fear Ward will be a boon against PvP characters and PvE bosses that use fear. It'll still take a skilled priest to time the usage of fear ward with any ensuing casts of fear, which balances buff to Shadow Form somewhat. In any case, we'll have to wait for an official set of complete patch notes to see if the proposal from Bornakk really made it through to the final stage, but for now, it looks like it's a go.
