In an effort to consolidate the numerous info for Patch 2.4 in World of Warcraft's PTRs, Blizzard Poster Hortus compiled a list of several important updates. Although some are new, some have been announced in the past (but it doesn't hurt to reiterate them).
The consolidated info isn't about the game in as much as it's about Patch 2.4's development. The last three points in the list below have been announced before, but we posted them again to keep in the spirit of Hortus' wish to consolidate info:
Pre-made characters
- There are no pre-made characters for this test phase. We do not anticipate the need for pre-made characters. Please do not create threads requesting them.
- There are no plans for gear vendors in the 2.4 PTR.
- The PTR authentication server was updated on February 1st 2008, if your account was not active on this date you will not have access to the 2.4 PTR.
- The process of copying characters currently in the Public Test Realm queue will only be run from 2:00 AM PST to 2:00 PM PST on a daily basis, but players may still visit http://test.worldofwarcraft.com/ptr/character-copy.html at any time to add their character(s) to the queue.
- We are working on getting everybody copied over to the Public Test Realms to experience, test, and provide feedback on this exciting new content and we thank you for your patience.
- With the 2.4.0 PTR, we will be allowing US, EU and Korean players to access all available PTR realms. Players will be able to choose which test realm they wish to play on without being restricted by region. All PTR realms will be available in this way for ONLY patch 2.4.0.
- With the release of patch 2.4.0 for testing, many players have questioned whether or not this is the extent of changes for this patch. Please be aware that we have changed how we are developing and testing this patch by adding to it progressively. What this means for players is that more additions, changes and even the possibility of removals can occur as the patch is tested. The current patch notes will be changing over time and are not finalized in their current incarnation. We have more planned for this patch and would ask everyone to please feel free to test the new changes as we go and provide feedback.
