I played a lot of Diablo 2 years ago but recently me and a friend started playing again. I started a Sorceress in the hopes of being able to run meph and andy and whatever else to get some gear... My gear at the moment is not really up to snuff for even those guys. What would be some easy to aquire gear I could get to get me started? I got a tal's mask off diablo in hell when I was working through hell but other than that all my stuff is pretty much junk... maybe 1 +1 to all skills.
Any advice would be great.

try pindel and the 2 at fridged wp not the worlds best drops ( though pindel has potential )but easy to git to and easy to kill it should be enough to git you started

Ladder or Non-Ladder?
For starting Sorcs, first I suggest getting an insight for your merc. Since you're just starting out, your sorc probably can't even tele that far without running out of mana. Insights are cheap to make (if your on ladder that it) and efficient damage for your merc. Also, try getting your hands on other easy runewords like spirit etc. If you can't afford a shako (which is really bad) then make a lore helm (ort+sol). Be innovative and soon you'll have enough gear to meph until you get some really god stuff.

Yeah I have not really looked into the runewords much yet, the runes seem so expensive.
Thanks for the tip on Lore that doesn't sound too bad.

go on ladder for sure if you're starting out
reason: items from ladder are more expensive on non-ladder and easy to sell. so you can make ladder profit by visiting a forum gold trading website ...

In the beginning, concentrate on survivability rather than damage. Full (or near to it) resists are a must. Try to get some damage reduction (although that will be tough) and really try to get your FCR% up.
