You still should keep the idea of 100 rep for one of the groups, Keep Legend status what it is?

Or set 100 rep for Immortals?

Nice to see usergroup updates. You might want to either change the usergroup banners or align the names with the banners ("Ancients still have the banner that says veteran).

Yea I'll re-make all of the banners. Maybe with a more modern look as well.

The rep idea is possible, I'll have to re-instate the rep system for it to work. As long as its not abused again!

Sweet =]

So are you going to make a new group for it or just add on the requirements for one of them?

If the rep system is re-added I'll just add rep to the requirements for the usergroups. I can move everyone to the lowest level "newcomer" and run the promotion rules so everyone is moved into the appropriate group.

Im not saying each group should have requirements, I liked the old school way. How veterans needed 100 rep to become a legend. Im saying lets do that with Immortals.

In my opinion, the reputation system is both benefiting and flawed.

The forums turning into a contest solely for popularity instead of people genuinely being nice and helpful is not a good thing.

Not to mention that only 1/2 the moderators show up on a given day--of which how many read every post to ensure that nobody goes uprepped? Then people get pissed because of they expect rewards for their good deeds instead of simply a "thank you".

On the other hand, in D2 Sector's hayday the system worked well. Respectable members became legends, envious vets made themselves look like assholes trying to become legends. Life was good. Nowadays, I think it wouldn't fly. We have unrespectable legends, and logical members with <30 rep.

Just my opinion that if rep is to be the standard bearer for the legend position, then a serious/no bullshit system has to instituted in order to avoid babies whining over it.

Thats true, I think it motivates people to try harder, post more, be more active. Plus mods are the only ones who can give out Rep. I think it will be good idea to bring it back.

You're missing the point. Should people be encouraged to post more and be actually helpful for the sake of rep? Gaining said rep for the sake of turning around and being condescending over other members with less rep?

I know that posts have been low lately, but instituting a superficial system like rep for the sake of increasing post counts is buying them in blood (not literally guys, this is an internet forum--it's an expression).

The system as a whole brings out some of the negative aspects inherent in all humans: the want for respect, a feeling of superiority, and false charity to satisfy one's own ends.

The forums would be better off without the rep system in place. The only ones who become a legend are those who kiss ass like no tomorrow, look for opportunities to gain rep and post solely for that purpose, or are actually uber-helpful, knowledgeable, kind, AND active.

On the other hand, having the requirement based solely on posts can open the opportunity for spammers/idiots to become legends. I mean, 2000 posts is a lot, however, not impossible for a spammer/retard. Can you imagine Tigeroip being a legend? Make the legend status what it used to be: a user group comprised of very respectable members.

My idea is one that nobody (especially the legends) will probably like: completely abolish the legend status for ALL members that have not been past moderators. Clean, simple, straight-forward.

This is why higher status should be harder to obtain, otherwise everyone can spam their way through and become an "Immortal". As far as Reputation goes, it has never been easy to obtain rep even if they kissed ass(with the exception of one member). Otherwise we would have a mass flood of Legends. But I also think moving up to "Immortal" should be generally approved by Immortals+

The Immortals as a non-promotional group is an option. Users can only be moved to that group by admins and the like.

Wow. Some changes? Hopefully they are helpful to new additions to the forum. As for most of us that visit (or visited) regularly, we know who is who already. I don't even know my own status and never bothered trying to figure anyone else's either.

I like the changes I have seen recently, if I get the time to play more I will be here more too to brush up on the latest stuff. Who knows, I haven't heard any D3 rumors in a while... maybe something will surprise me and get me started playing more again.

The rep system as it was had some flaws, but then again it wasn't completely without merit. There will always be ass kissers and spam idiots. While no system is perfect, what I see from the changes already made and proposed is that Spit is LISTENING to you guys.He has always taken suggestions seriously, and what has been changed recently has made it more fair for everyone.

I have been negatively reped several times buy Fuggy and GUESS WHAT???
It doesn't bother me at all.Same goes for user groups and the color of my name...big deal!
That is just how I feel about it,but realize there are many people that this means a great deal too.If I still could,I would have reped Hellsing for the single most well thought out post I have read in a very long time.

Spit,I REALLY like the way you layed out all the information for each group. This leaves no room for doubts about what is needed to advance to the next group level.
Good job!

Sounds good in treroy but as always hard to impliment. I think the people that Make the mods and code should be the imortals do to the fact that all of us can't do it. To answer questions you have to know how it was made. if its just aout tinkering then I find different people know what they are talking about but weather they are willing to share that information is the problem. I have found that since I have joined this group an unwillingness to chat with newbies like they area pleague however if they are pleased with the response they get when they are here they wll come back. Not everyone is going to know everyting or anything in regards to what you guys talk about but they want to understand because it help others.

Invis and Hellsing, look at my signature.

I probably shouldn't of been a legend, if according to you guys I'm not well liked. But hey, you people base everything off of the more site social forums and not off anything else. So its no wonder nobody likes me.

But I do think its a good idea to add a rep requirement back.

Nobody said anything about you...can someone make me a mod so I can warn him whenever he does this?
