Explain Rushing Plz!!!!

Can anyone give me a good explanation on rushing and how it should be done properly? I started me a new character and my buddy is trying to rush me up to his lvl but for some reason nothing is happening. Plz explain.

go to act 1 norm do quests in public untill your lvl 10 (make sure all people are around ur lvl) once 10 kill andy goto act 2 do sewer runs till around 15, get to arcane sanc and do runs till 20, then do normal cows untill 24.8, get ur friend to rush u to act 5, do anya and shenk quest, then kill ancients, do normal baal runs untill lvl 50, enter nm and get ur friend to rush u to nm act 5, kill ancients, do baal runs till 75, get rushed to hell act 5, kill ancients, and do as many baal runs as u want from then on.

hope this was helpful (it got me to 80 in 7 hours from lvl 1)

as for your explanation of rushing its when a character is in hell but usually cannot kill any monster that well

Thanx that does help alot. Also when we are fighting do I need to be the one to make final blow to get the bulk of the exp or does it really matter just as long as we are in a party?

you will all get some exp, but the person who delievers the "fatal blow" (aka final blow) will get a slightly higher % of the experience given by that certain monster, but pretty much it's not as noticable, just make sure u stay pretty close to the party to attain the group exp, like stay in the same screen or so.

exactly, if you care to look at the patch changes in ur d2 directory it clearly states you must be a max of 2 screens away from wherever the monsters are getting killed
