Hey guys, because of a rule at my school, we are not allowed to have games on our computers, and because diablo barely runs from dvd/flash drive, i thought I could have all the game files on the computer, and the exe on dvd/flash drive. the problem is that i don't know how this is to be accomplished, and i was wondering if you guys could help me out here.

So you can run the D2 file from your flash drive but not the PC? Do they have restrictions in place on the PC's that prevent you from running the game from the computer or its just "the rule"? D2 shouldn't be that bad off of a USB 2.0 Flash drive?
Edit: Just copied d2 to a 4GB Sandisk Cruzer and it worked as if off of the HDD.
One option would be to have the "d2loader frontend" on your flash drive and point it to the d2 on the HDD.

First of all we don't have usb2 on the computers, so running it from a flash drive is really slow. and the rules state you cannot put your own programs on the computer, it's possible to do so, but seeing its my last year i really shouldn't break the rules (they can make my life hell if i do). but it IS allowed to have files on your computers, so if i have all the files except all exe files i haven't broken any rules (technically), so i need to have my diablo2.exe on my flashdrive as well.
