Diablo 3 New Class Announced!

At Blizzcon today they announced another new class into D3, the Wizard! Obviously this is your Sorc, but I noticed they added Tornado from Druids and stuff. Anyways here's a link to a gameplay video and their D3 page.

pretty sweet
the teleport looks like it has a delay, so people wont be able to spam teleport all over in duels. this is going to be interesting

telespam.. the enemy of a ww barb.. I learned leap attack to counteract that, but it didn't work very well, either. There's just no way to beat a telespam sorce unless you're an FOH pala. I never played LoD, but I'm guessing that FOH palas with enigma were annoying as shizzle.

true true, they could be different. but in general i think that the fundamentals of the game would remain the same

I like the Wiz and the anti-tele spam (about time Blizz fixes sumthing right), but I still belive that with this being next gen and all, that each class should be available in male/female - without that, the characters seem to get boring pretty quick, seeing the same old stuff on the same old chars gives no real diversity..but maybe its just me annoyed with d2 right now lol.

It isn't really fair to take away the tele or slow it down. The barb can tank a sorc can't therefore the sorc has to find other means to stay alive. If you take it away the characters become unbalanced in power.

I wouldn't depend on blizz making a balanced char set for d3, d2 wasn't even close but I think they will have some other kind of spell to replace teleport. The witchdoctor looked liked an improved necro to me, some of those spells are pretty innovative compared to the old diablos. I definitely know that the warior/divine knight type char has always been in the diablo series, so a diff char to replace the almighty Paladin is pretty much a guarantee IMO. How many chars did they say there'd be or has that been released yet?

Why do people keep saying Wizards will do bad because they can't tele fast and using D2 mechanics to prove it. This isn't D2 with fancy new graphics, they've changed a lot about the game. For all you know the Wizards can 3 shot Barbarians.

I haven't really played with any classes but the Necro and the Barbar in D2 so jumping in with a tele-lag time won't be a huge issue. I imagine that it's just one of those things that will add content to the game.
I mean, you go and try to pull off a spell that teleports your whole body instantaneously. It's unrealistic, lol.

This adds a function to it i think that makes the game more what it should be. Plus it will teach you to be quicker on your feet.
