hero editor error plz help me

i get an error saying

character file size too small
either this file is probably not a valid character file (or pre-V!.09D)
or your computer needs to be set for a single byte letters/unicode,not
multiple byyte letters /unicode
also,make sure that u set the regional and language ssettings to english


plz when u help me try to explain as detailedf as possible since i dont now nothing about computer and thx u

Must make a character using D2. So open up the game, make a new character in Single Player, and save the game. Then that should work. IF you try creating a char using Hero Editor, it might not work.

I also find that if you do something simple, like kill a few monsters, or sell your start gear it helps.
