Basically, it's going to cost a bit of money. And so Luke is trying to see just how many people want the feature, to see if it's worth spending the money on.

would this be like a mini version of MSN? if so isin't the chat box just as good.

I wouldn't use it. A (cheaper) alternative is to just make one stickied thread, and in it post links to outside blogs people have on the interwebs (ie blogger, livejournal, etc). It could basically just be one big post, and have others PM the person who makes the thread with their blog/link, which can be posted in alphabetical order by username.

A blog can be used as a journal as well, it is basically the same thing. Any new features added to this site are usually not used and obsolete after a short while anyways.

I disagree for a few reasons Mike.Outside blogging is not a way to connect with this site.Simplicity and ease of use will promote more people joining in and reading.
I KNOW I would use it...and not having to be linked to someplace else would matter to me.
Just my opinion.

i wouldent use it cause my blogs will usually be about the Reppublic or related stuff.

I hate the new site design so as far as this would make stuff look more concise and easier to read, it gets a thumbs up from me.

Skye...you were right..no clue how it works,but the idea is basic.You share your thoughts with others.Whether it is computer geekiness,or the baby spit up on you...it is YOUR blog entry,and for some it is theraputic.

Example is Shadow Dragon.Another webmaster friend,and very young when he made his site.*stares at Spit*
His problem was being so nervous talking to others,he froze up talking to advertisers.
He had already taken the journal out of the site when he changed formats,but I advised him to open one in annonimity,just to get his feet wet.

He ended up LOVING it,and over time became more open and unafraid to communicate.

I love PEOPLE...I am a people person and have an ability to connect.Therefore OF COURSE I am going to be interested in your day,good or bad.

i think that a blog would be interesting.
im sure that the main focus of this website is to have members get together about d3.
but on there other hand, there is so much more vibrancy outside of just games.
the blog would add to that.
linking to outside blogs would not work. i for one would be too lazy to click on the link.

I don't think it's worth spending money to get. People may say they will use it, I know I won't. All in all I don't really see why it's needed, if you want to post something about your life just do it, this is a forum, not myspace. :/

The problem with a thread is the format.An entry should be your own and dated...with comments being comments and not just a whole thread of spam.
A journal is personal and only YOU should add to it.
A thread just will not work.I will send Spit some loot on paypal....

this is just a regular thread format, but it has rules stated that you cannot post in another's journal, or else you get a warning. it was effective, cheap, and not very difficult.
yeah, i'm not familiar with the links to the other blogs, and i have no where else to write. i have no myspace, no facebook, nada, so im uncertain about wether or not the link idea would be good for me.
Spit, Skye, whichever is the easiest, and best for the site, go for it. I believe that something to keep the forum together, instead of skipping to different sites, is best. Aslo, it doesnt have to be too detailed. For me, a simple section all of it's own is fine by me.

That is what is great about this site.Spit ALWAYS listens and takes serious suggestions into consideration.Then we bounce around the idea to see what would work best and what the members want.

That is just how I have ALWAYS remembered Spit operating.
