Long distance runner?

I like to keep my times low and distance at medium. Stopping at about 4-5 miles and Ill keep it under 7:30. I weight lift more then run though.

I do long distance so I can keep my recovery up. I used to weight lift a lot in high school...just got bored with it. I do chair push ups, crunches, inclines, and run basicly now. I'll do curles and bend over rows every once in a while though.

"I can do 3 miles each under 7:30."

Wait wait wait ares... You said you can run 3 miles in 7:30 or each mile of the three.

In the MC you have a physical fitness test every 6 months. One of the things is a timed 3 mile run. The perfect score is 18 mins for three miles. 6 mins a mile.

what my constant use of commas? bad habit.

Z3R0 Wrote:Running sucks if you haven't done it in a while...but eventually, with proper breathing techniques and consistancy, the pain will pass. Heh.

thats wat im lacking is the breathing techniques. Back In PE our runs were 3km which i easily finished in 15 minutes. Like i said a long time ago, im working my way up thou. Doin about 1.5km run no. its actually easier than my 1km route since it doesn't have like a 30 meters of stairs and steep hill to go up. my goal is for stamina, meaning less runs at longer distances. My goal is about 10 Km in 45 minutes.

yea i think he meant 7:30 a mile, doing it in 7:30 probably possible but u'd need the speed/stamina of an olympic athelete i think. Actually scratch that, impossible. Our top runners in our school when they do the 1km warmup. They average around 3:30. 3 miles equals 4.5 km? So yea.

Yes Siris, 3 continous miles each under seven minutes and thirty seconds. Im also aware on the military testing. I was preparing myself for that Smile

Very wrong, its nothing hard. The Olympic runners run I think it was 21 miles? each under 6-7 or something like that?

What I do isn't even that impressive. Once I can do 5 Miles under 7 that would be on a scale of 1-10 about a 7

I think you have to be able to run a 6 min. mile depending on what branch you are going for. Think I heard that somewhere, don't hold me to it though.

No, It may be the perfect score but it'd wouldn't be the cut off. Any I don't know that any of the branches that just run a mile. The navy runs a mile and a half for there's. We run three.
