So, i just got fired.
#1
Thats right after 2 years as an apprentice electrician i got the sack this morning.
I have no idea what i want to do, and need to get a new job ASAP. I do not want to start my apprenticeship elsewhere becasue i hated my job. Also, i need to get a job within 2 weeks or i'm on the streets. Give me some help everyone, lay down some suggestions for some jobs.
Fml.

Check out craigslist, see if they have anything in your area. I'm on the jobhunt too, although I'm mostly taking it easy for the summer. Good luck finding something, or hit the street corners for your "services."

Go to one of those places where they give you short term jobs or whatever, do that til you can find a real one.

If you're good with computers, try going to a local business. Like being on the bestbuy geek squad or something. But maybe for a lesser known place.

graphic design is a very competitive business, also to get a job with any kind of design around here requires a tafe course degree which i don't have and cant afford.
Came very close to being kicked out of home tonight, also there taking my car off me so can't even live in that.
I've applied at local supermarkets and department stores but nothing yet.
I'm no good with computer really, i can only do basic things.
I was thinking maybe i would be eligible for a government pay out, anyone know anything about those?

Why the **** would they take away your car for getting fired? And who's they?

Also, shouldnt you get unemployment pay from your old job?

If you've been apprenticing in eletrical for two years, look into getting an agent and hiring into a company that installs elevators and esculators. They make a Looot of money, excellent benefits, plus you get to travel a lot all expenses paid. Many of them have unions as well. However, with the economy still in the slump, I don't know what it would take to get hired on to a job like that. I'll look into some stuff for you.

They being mum, and she will take it away becasue she is a ***** and payed for it. Though i payed for all the insurance and rego...
And my boss is paying me any holiday leave he owes me and 2 weeks pay then thats it. He rang me this morning and gave me a few names of companies that install and make switch boards, so might give them a call.
I'm over early mornings, i want a job that i can get up at a reasonable time and still finish at a reasonable time. Long story short im a very lazy person.

heh well we can't always get what we want mang!. I mean i hate my job but i can't survive without it. Come january, my mom stops getting money from the government for me (cuz i'll be 18) and so i need to come up with the 500 a month for her. Just call the companies and get the job. Than look for better opportunies. That's what i've been doing...Are you good at competitive retail? Cell phone sellers can make very good money if they are great. Some make over 100,000 a year (also depends on location).

Bike to work! You'll be surprised how fast you actually get there. Its 2x slower than driving a car and 4x faster than walking. ANd plus the more u do it, the faster you become. Biking in the heat is fine if u got sunscreen and also if you're going fast. But yea think about retail for now. Selling anything with commission. If ure good at it, you can be very successful.

depending on where you live there are various jobs you can get.
I'm currently trying to get a job at this place not to far from where I live called Convergys,
it's pretty much At&t's customer care and troubleshooting lines, people call in and complain about their cell phone bills and ask for help with their phones.
All you do is answer the phone and listen to them b***h about the problem at hand and you get payed for it.
Simple job, try getting one like that.

I live in Australia, Sydney. I live in a sort of industrial area with lots of factories but also not to far away from your general stores and malls. I've applied for a few retail stores but with no luck so far.
Going to put in an application for Video Ezy this morning haha.

Go enlist.

They don't even interview you, sign the damn thing and your off.

Thing about enlisting is, you become the goverment's property/tool. Plus, you have to spend 6 years just to get anything really worthwhile. Trust me, I know.
