Thailand drops North Korea weapons charges - CNN.com

Taliban fighters training in Iran, U.S. officials say - CNN.com

If you put both of those stories together, it sounds a lot like North Korea is supplying insugents in the Middle East with a crap ton of weapony. 35 tons of small arms and rpgs....70,000 lbs. Lets assume, for instance, that 25,000 lbs of that load were AK-47s(he did say Kalishnikovs), 15,000 lbs were RPGs, and the rest is ammo and other crap. AK-47s weigh 9.5 lbs. That's 2,361 guns. That's 2,361 more people armed. RPG-7's weigh 15 lbs, so that equates to 1,000 rocket launchers. That's a lot of weaponry...headed to Iran, were I believe I read that US intelligence stated 80% of the insurgency gets it's weapons.

On top of that...

The Arsenal of the Iraq Insurgency | The Weekly Standard

China seems to be doing its part, also. The two countries(NK and China) have two things in common. First is that they're both communist. Second is that we fought them both in the Korean War.

I don't know. It's all interesting to me.

Here's the stats though that I was talking about...(found on wikipedia)

China: 3 million active and reserve troops. 4 million paramilitary.
Iran: 1 million active and reserve troops. 11 million paramilitary.
North Korea: 5.8 million active and reserve troops. 200,000 paramilitary.
United States: 3 million active and reserve troops. 450,000 paramilitary.

Scary numbers. Smile Combine that with the fact that the first three hate the last one, and that China is trying to be close to on par with the US in the air and in the sea by 2020... well, you see the picture.

If you put the numbers of every ally of the US and every other country that would probably give a damn in the unlikely event that a conflict broke out against those that would probably be against us... I believe we're severely outnumbered. Not that any of us would survive the nuclear holocaust anyway. xD

That is very interesting and disturbing.
I know many young adults that have attempted to join the Armed Forces and were turned away.
We need to start speaking out on this and remind recruiters and our government, they need these people who are willing to serve their country.

one thing: i dont think iran can support 12 million men in the army. ever. the economy just isn't good enough for that. i don't think even the Soviet union or any other big power managed that much men at any one time.

US was built on war and borrowing money. I think we would be more than able, nuclear or not and a world war may even help our economy. That is, if we put non-soldiers to work by the war.

And lets fantasize, if we got into a world war, why not just seize the countries and start producing everything for our benefit. laugh:

That was rather cynical and quite scary to be honest.

Which part? The first or the last?

If you look at it, the first part is totally true. The second part is totally evil, I agree, but consider it an eye for an eye. laugh:
