Multiple Instances
#1
Hi all,

For muling purposes I would like to run 2 copies of Diablo 2 on one PC, with 2 different CD Keys of course.
I read about different methods, I.E. Sandboxie, virtual box - but every time I try these methods, after I install D2 I receive "Diablo II Failed to run. please ensure the disk is inserted properly, and is not damaged"

Does anyone know how I can run multiple copies?

Thanks~!

what i did was install d2 on separate partitions. this is akin to installing d2 on an external, and running both at the same time. there was a thread in the site that explained how to do that. you could try searching for it
US East L/NL-arowws4 arowws5 uber/organ runs for free. Free items too. Just ask. Must be member of this site.

I could be wrong, but that makes no sense.
The logic behind this indicates you're running 2 different operating systems at the same time, on the same computer, without a virtual?

I've determined that you're unable to run D2 in a virtual because the graphics are unable to load. I've been searching this site for a resolution to this problem, but I have yet to come across one.

Any additional information would be fantastic.

Thank-you,

two partitions just mean that your hard drive is split virtually. for instance, i have both a c and d drive. when i originally installed xp, i told it to create two sections, ie, c and d. now since i also have an external, which is drive g, i could technically have three instances running at once.

there is a way to have multiple bots though, without resorting to having multiple positions. i think it was as simple as renaming the d2 folder to something else, and just reinstalling. i remember i guy did it on here.. and posted the process. im just too lazy to search for it Tongue

Interesting. I do understand what a partition is, working in the IT industry for the last 8 years kind of brought me up to speed Wink

However, I don't understand how that will allow me to run multiple instances of D2 -- when Diablo II runs, it's looking for the GAME.EXE process, even if you're running the GAME.EXE process from a different partition, or hell, different hard drive alltogether - then you're still running GAME.EXE and Windows is going to pick it up and tell you you're denied.

I tried searching for that thread, I haven't had much luck. I'll let you know if I do find it.

I'm not looking for this to bot, just for the record. I need this to mule those godly items !

you are correct in that windows will deny you, (or rather the game) if you try to run two instances normally. d2nt for whatever reason is able to by pass that issue. you just have to target each game.exe

creat a new user account on your comp, install your d2 in a different file, for example if your original file is Diablo2, name the new file Diablo IIand install with your second cd key, then you just open 1 d2 with each user account and swap back and forth. running d2 windowed is a little faster. no sandboxie or anything else required
