Mario Pipe Shroom Attached At Bottom
Ok. In this tutorial I'll show you how to make my Mario sig.

First off. Open a New Document at 390x90px.



Set your colors to default by hittind "d".
Go to Filter>Render>Clouds
Keep hitting "Ctrl+F" to keep repeating clouds untill you're happy with the generated clouds. (You want more white than black.)



Use Filter>Brush Strokes>Accented Edges
Edge Width-2 Edge Brightness-38 Smoothness-5

Filter>Pixalete>Mosaic

Create a New Layer.


Then switch the new layer from Normal to Color.



Fill with Paint Bucket with the color #007EFF (It's a light blue.)



Take your Pencil and draw a wavy line of #236B00 and fill the bottom half. It should look like this.



1/4 way there now. Animation is the hard part.

Insert the Pipe, Mario, and the Mushroom into the picture I have enclosed in the download I attached to this post.



Print Screen your screen so that you can select this part of the sig.

Paste it in a new document. Take the Rectangular Marquee Tool and select as wide as the pipe from the top of the pipe to the bottom of the sig like the picture above shows. Copy that and paste it in the original and delete the old pic of the pipe. (This is so when Mario jumps into the pipe you don't see his arms and the pipe has pieces of the bg to block vision of the arms.)
Make sure you line up the pipe with the bg.

Make a new layer draw a big circle and two smaller ones coming out of the pipe so they look like a thought bubble. Type over that whatever you want him to say. Then with the text layer selected go to Layer>Rasterize>Type. Hit "Ctrl+E" to merge the text with the thought bubble layer. Set the opacity of this layer to 0. (You'll see later.)

Place Mario off the screen of where he comes out.

Jump to ImageReady. (The Hard Part.)



Click on the Mario Layer.
Duplicate the Frame.

Drag Mario to where the pic shows.


Hold Control and select both of the frames. Click tween.


Tween 25 frames. Hit OK
This is pretty tricky. Read carefully!
Ok you should have 27 frames now.
Here is how you make Mario walk up and down the hills. So far you have Mario walking straight through the hills. Now go frame by frame with Mario's layer selected and hold shift and move Mario up and down accordingly passed the mushroom and to where he stops.

Find the frame where he touches the shroom. Select that and all the frames afterwards and go to the shroom layer. Set the opacity to 0. So that it disappears. Now all the frames afterwards will have an "invisible shroom."
Duplicate frame 27.
Now take Mario from where he is on frame 28 and move him to the top of the pipe as the pic shows.

Tween 27-28 by 7 frames. Move Mario Up and down while holding shift to make it look like hes is jumping.
Duplicate frame 35 and make Mario go down the pipe while holding shift. Tween 35-36 5 frames.

Duplicate 41. Duplicate 42. Go to frame 42 and make your thought bubble layer opacity 100% Tween 41-42 seven frames. Tween 48-49 seven frames. Go to frame 49 and click the delay timer and set it to 2 seconds.

And Congratulations. You made an multi-animated sig.

To save go to File>Save Optimized As

Finished project.

1) First you need to click the new set (or add an action to a default set). for this tutorial we will just add a new set follow along punk! lol



2) name your set. anything you want.



3) now we need to add a new action to the set we just created so click the new set



4) here you can name your action and put a 'hot' color on it. the color wont change anything but it helps to organize. you can also set the function keys but i dont, but some do. as soon as you hit record it will start recording so set everything in the image up before you record. as soon as you hit the record button it will be recording!! TO ADD ACTIONS ALL YOU DO IS (AFTER PUSHING RECORD) GO TO FILTER> RENDER> CLOUDS. then continue to the next step.



5) when your done with adding things to the set, push stop.



6) when you want to play the action that you just made (which will make clouds) just push play.




actions are very handy and useful. you can record anything. to give you an idea, while im at work i have to convert all image si use to bitmaps and grayscales for the printers so of cours ei have many things set on actions so i dont have to do much, which give me more time at D2S (thanks for hosting the imgs d2s)

TUTORIAL#02-CREATED WITH PHOTOSHOP 6.0
2005/trip

the pen tool isnt all that hard, its just intricate. im going to show you how to convert basic shapes like a box or a rectangle and make nice neat curves as aposed to make 2 shapes and cheating hahaha

first just start a new document, doesnt really matter, i made mine quite big just to have an area to work with (something lik 650x650px) and select your pen tool.



next we are going to "plot" some points on the image, i have labeled them so you can follow along in the same order. when you are plotting the points onto the image if you hold the 'shift' key it will plot into a straight line for you, as with most of the tools. to complete the path just click on the first point you plotted.



ok now click and hold the pentool and another little list will appear and select the convert tool



now, when you have your convert point tool in hand click and hold point #3 hold the shift key down and pull your mouse down, the line will begin to curve. this can be done on any point.



in the layers window you can click on the path tab then click the little icon in the upper right corner fo that window and fill the path, or convert the path to a selection, then fill it. either way im sure you'll want it filled as it is see-through right now lol.
