making your own would take a long time, you have to draw every pixel your self, then antmate it, draw some more pixels for the effect you want, repeat untill finished, takes AGESSSS

*From Global DJ 2k*

A little different from Phoenix...

1. Open a new doc... Size it about... 400*400 pixels.

2. Grab the Gradient tool, take these setting:
Gradient: Reflected gradient. Mode: Difference.
And check the Dither and Transparency boxes.
Oh... I almost forgot: Opacity: 100.

3. Hehe... A little ripoff from Phoenix:
"Then go apeshit with the gradient"

4. Filter- Distort- ripple: default.

5. Duplicate the background layer.
Use Filter- Distort- Wave: Type: Sine.
Numbers of Generators: 255.

Wavelenght: Max:500, Min:250

Amplitude: Max: 500, Min: 250.

Scale: Horiz:1, Vert:1.

Undefined areas: Wrap Around.

On the newest layer.

6. Set the blending mose to Lighten.

7. Filter- distort- Wave: Same as before, but change the type to Triangle on the background layer, And set the Numbers of Generators
to 107.

8. Merge the layers.

9.Duplicate the layer.
Use Filter- distort- Wave: change Numbers Of Generators to 255
and change the type to Sine.

10. Change the blending mode to lighten...
and merge em'.

And you are done!

As I said before, this tut is almost like Phoenix, with some changes...

From Global DJ 2k:

Open a new doc, any size...

Press "D" on your keybord.

1. Filter- Render- Clouds.

2. Filter- Render- Difference Clouds.

3. Ctrl+L, and for the first: Default, second bar: 3.0, last: 180.

4. Duplicate the background layer.

5. Filter- Distort- Wave on the new layer:
Just randomize a little... Triangle.
Change Blending Mode to Lighten.

6. Duplicate the newest layer.

7. Edit- Transform- Rotate 180.

8. Change Blending Mode to Multiply...

This is what I got when I used a Doc with 450*140, I think...

- CTRL + E to merge the layer down.

- Filter > Render > Difference Clouds.

This tut is originally from Forsken Creations

This will make a result similar to Inside's techno feelings

1> New document 500x500

2> Fill with black

3> New layer

4> Select the pen tool and pick a color that you want to use

5> start making a bunch of misc. shapes

6> New layer

7> Use the pen tool and just make 1 small-medium shape

8> Repeat steps 6 and 7 until you get 20 layers of pen tool shapes

9> Set the blending mode of all layers to overlay and the opacity to 50% (except for your first pen layer that u created with step 5)

10> Shift+CTRL+E to merge all layers

11> Dupliacte the layer

12> Filter>Distort>Wave (just hit randomize a few times and make it look cool

13> Edit>Fade wave 50% opacity|blend mode set to overlay

14> Set the layer blend mode to lighten then merge the layers

15> Repeat steps 11 and 12

16> Edit>Fade Wave opacity 50% set the blend mode to Soft Light

17> Set the layer blend mode to linear light

18> Duplicate your layer and set it to multiply

19> Merge all layers (Shift+CTRL+E)

20> Repeat step 11 and 12

21> Edit>Fade Wave opacity 50% set the blend mode to Lighten

Fun With Rectangle Marquee Tool
this tutorial is good for making logo's or designs

1.New document 300x300

2.Grab your rectangle marquee tool and make a box
[Image: recmarqueetool.jpg]

3.now to the sides of the box to take shape like you want them you use subtract from selection for the marquee tool
[Image: marqueeset.jpg]

after doing all that i got something like this
[Image: marqueedone.jpg]

4.now you can fill the selection with a solid color, pattern,or gradient...i chose to fill with a gradient by simply using my gradient tool
[Image: gradtool.jpg]

5.this is optional...i added a 1px border around the entire section and i transfered it to a transparent background and my finshed document is this

mayb u could add an outer glow to the layer, and then do the same thing as the "glowing text" tutorial or something like that, that may work but im not sure. you could also mayb copy layer and use smudge to stretch out the edge even more, then animate from the regular eclipse picture to your modified eclipse picture and just throw some tweens in there...

*edit* oh i think i see what u mean i didnt really read ur post that thoroughly. u could try starting with just the outline of the circle (planet) and then make the second frame the eclipse picture, then tween them.
