Ok seriously you can't judge the system because of it's games. I wish X-box had more games but the games it does have that are just completely awsome (with some exceptions) are X-box only. PS2 only has so many games cause it's been around longer and it's easy to get your game published for PS2. But consider the consoles themselves before you look at just the games.
X-box
-Hard drive is standard
-Online features are much better
-More games with online capabilities and downloadable content
-Faster
-Doesn't crash too often
-Wasn't shipped unfinished
PS2
-Old now
-Slower
-Great CG movies
-Don't have to buy the remote for DVD capabilities

Now look at games. X-box has Halo and Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic (Also on PC though) which are two of the best games EVER made. But on the other hand PS2 has a larger selection and is the only console with rights to Final Fantasy games.

In the end I feel the X-box is a better machine and the only reason I still use my PS2 is for Final Fantasy. If Square started publishing X-box games my PS2 would rot in the garage.

im sick of everyone bashing ps2 becuz of its godamn errors. omg it has a disc read error. who gives a shit. and ppl are bashing gta 3 and vc becuz of its glitches. i took good care of both and besides sum minor glitches it was pretty good. i also hear people sayin that they both freeze. well if you throw ur discs around and let them get scratched... well no shit they're gonna freeze. ps2 DOES has many half *** games. but they're are quite a few good games worth playing the whole way thru.(ffx, gt3, gta vice city etc.) most of u mofos seem to think that the xbox is better just becuz of the faster processor. well physichally yes, the xbox is better. thats only becuz old man gates is used to makin godamn computers. overall i think ps2 has the better games, and will always have the better games. sony has been in the game market longer than microsoft and has more experience with the game console business. microsoft just stay with makin computers and leave this sorta thing to the big boys.

If that's the case then what about Nintendo or Sega? Shouldn't they be the top 2 companies since they were there long before Sony? I'm glad a third console came out cause after Sega went under I didn't like having to shove my Dreamcast in the closet cause it got boring with no new games. PS2 has better games because it can play the original PS games and they have been around in the console world a bit longer than Microsoft. But as you probably noticed after the release of the X-box quite a few games that were PS2 games came out with special X-box versions, I say special cause a few had special features for X-box only. We were talking about which console is better, I don't think it's fair to judge it by the games since it's not really Microsoft's fault that they can't get certain games, and actually Microsoft is more leanient about adult content in games.

(And Jedi I said with a few exceptions and the reason FF was on Nintendo consoles was because it was either them or Sega back then. Yes I know 7,8, and 11 are on PC, not sure if there are any more, but I don't count PC as console as most don't since we all know PC owns gaming.)

ok i deleted all the useless stuff lol i pointed out all the highlights. disc read error... ive got 3 broken ps2s in my closer cause of that. some o my xbox games are in the worst condition work perfectly except 1 i spilled like paint on it lol its not gonna read no matter what. IMO ps2 has 3 types o games that are good: the SOCOMs, some Final Fantasy's, and good old armored core lol. ps2 online sux *** i moved to my new house and i gotta run that damn disc again to get it online.. i cant even find it. xbox fixed itself. in ps2 u gotta hold the button to talk and 1 at a time.. valuable information like where sum1 is on socom. but sum1 is talkin about where they are going those ppl over there = dead. xbox no buttons to push all can talk at once no problems. ps2 friends list per game. xbox a single friends list for all games. if u couldnt tell xbox live rapes ps2 online. the price 50$ a yr wooh biggie thats nothin. think of some of those games like ff online like 13$ a month.. thats 156$ a yr. for 1 game! GT3 and vice are on xbox leaving u with 1 good game for ps2. the faster processor is a major thing. i was playin a game on ps2 and the thing acts like lag for a second or 2 and then comes back. what the hell. thats so lame. and memory cards are a *****. ooh i forgot about controllers. xbox are bigger more fit for the population ps2 controllers are kinda small for me. ps2 controllers break in like a month. xbox dont. i have 4 xbox controllers all working perfectly. 9 ps2.. only 3 work. well thats all i gotta say

well i dont use ps2 online. i get my close friends to multiplayer on a game. thats it. well i dont know wut the **** ur doin to ur ps2 controllers to break them in a month. i still have my contollers from when i first bought my ps2. if im not mistaken the memory cards for xbox are more expensive anyways. you get wut u pay for. there are many more good games than just the ones u listed. then again it all depends on wut games u like so w/e.

plus when u think about all this stuff, the ps2 would have prolly been better than the xbox if it had costed as much. xbox was like $100 more than the ps2

lol the memory cards cost more for a good reason they hold more.. plus they arent even needed. o i forgot the big thing music! i got like 100 songs on my xbox. instead of listening to repetitive lame *** techno beats in games i can listen to w/e i want. and i think ps2 and xbox r same price or maybe ps2 a lil less
o and my ps2 controllers. i do nothin to em. now like when u shake em u hear this little thing rattle and stuff and the outer covering of the wires come off where it meets the controller. i gotta stuff it in there

and like a said in a previous post, i like all my systems equally. if i had the money i would buy an xbox too.

Only controller I ever had a probelm with were wireless PS controllers and the Genesis controllers that my dog chewed up. As for the games I actually take care of mine. But I did try to play Legend of Dragoon a few days ago and the damned thing froze in the middle of an FMV. That pissed me off cause I love the FMVs in that game. SOCOM is a fun game at first but it gets boring pretty fast. Plus if I'm gonna play a fps online it'll be either Battlefield or a Half-life mod I can't stand most fps games on console. Except for Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, and Red Faction. Console, in my opinion, is best for racing games (if you don't have a steering wheel), and fighting games. I think PC are equal for most forms of RPGs and adventure games, but PC is better for fps, flight sims, and anything online. As for X-box it's a more efficient machine with a company known for computer technology and gaming, not just a electronics company experimenting. Of course I feel both systems have a lead over the Game Cube, while it has a better engine than the PS2 in this situation the games are the big factor cause the potential of the Game Cube is just wasted in my opinion.

Okay PS2 Get pwns by XBOX...first off only 2 controller slots...youll need 2 ps2's(i play 16 player halo with 4 xboxs try 8 ps2s for socom or something)

have you ever heard of multi tap?, turns 1 port into 2 ports for the playstation, therefore, only 4 ps2's required to play socom with 16 ppl
and the xbox is huge, and who the hell is gonna set a drink on a 200$ system(when it came out)
