What's the bare minimum for a MF character to be effective? I want to know if 200% mf is enough for me to get something good from Hell Meph or Pindle. I can't get any higher than 200 right now, and I'm wondering if I'm wasting my time doing Meph runs.

Well, it is kind of weird. MF in 1.1 has some odd bugs in it. Depening on where you mf depends on the % you should have. If you are pitting 80% is about right. If its meph or pindle, go for more 250%.

500 is good, i found alot of goods wit my blizz sorc. i always do meph cuz its easy to do, and not like pindle is immute sometimes. but ppl told me, it dun matter how much mf u have, it depends on how many runs u r doin.

The more the better but i would say at least 250-300+ to be effective.

Mf is mostly luck and a number to make you feel good get as much as you can with still being able to kill faster
Fast runs less mf = better chance to get good items
Slow runs more mf= less chance to get items

If you have over 400MF, most of the items you find will be blue.
So 350~400 would be optimal.

its not really about mf its all about repitition
although there are dimminishing returns on mf in version 1.1 the more mf you have the better, but i have seen some sort of break points when i get more mf. even the difference of 20 or 30 mf has changed what i have found. for a while i found a but load of war travs, a couple were perfect. then i got 20 or 30 more mf and i havent found any travs for about a month.

I'm giving up on pindle. I tested my single player sorc with 900 mf and did about 20 pindle runs. NOTHING. I did 20 more, found IK Maul and SandTreks. If that's what i get from 900 mf, i shudder to think what i get with 200.
I'm doing meph runs now, and it's a pain in the ***. There's cold immune blood lords everywhere, and alot of times meph drops crap too.

Doesn't finding high leveled items also have to do with your clvl? I have a level 83 MF Blizz sorc with
%400 and she's working pretty good for me.

You have to be very patient with Pindle, he can drop lots of items mephy can't, best meph can drop is Valor, Arach, Verdungos, and SS. Not bad but Pindle can drop more runes, and better uniques

i think the ratio for mf is somthing like 400 mf equals 4% more chance. or 100 mf = 1%
