I am a newb to DII editing I understand the diff between I have goten so far as to edit my offline player but I can not edit my online player. Is it possible to edit an east cost or west cost account? If not why doesn't somone try a different approch. Instead of editing the file. why not edit an offline account then convert it to online?

NOPE!!!! u can only edit ur single player chars, then u can join open b.net & use them... for close b.net u really have to work for it...

if they made it like what u wanted to happen, no one will play d2 closed bnet anymore.. its all gona be open bnet...

the reason u cant do it on closed is because the files arent saved on ur pc, their saved in blizzards archive and if u want to hack ur char on closed u need to hack into blizz and thats hard and is against the law......the rsks are too high so no one does it

In 1.09 I had this trainer that let you edit your character while you were playing and it worked online. I'm not sure if it worked on closed though because I didn't have any cd keys that worked then. Would it have worked on closed or is that impossible.

Ever herd of Magic Trainer Creator? My friend once showed it to me. He edited some dudes name on an online game, changed it to somthing like i_am_gay, then the dude got pissed and left. I never bothered to learn how to work it. Basicly it is (I think) an on the fly hex editor. Only works on windows 95/98. You can find it here, http://membres.*****.fr/tsearch/

I wouldn't really consider it being against the law, just against blizzard's regulations. That is, unless you consider blizzard as the law...

well i am afraid to say but your friend is lieing because there is more then 1 person that made iths, i used to know the guy that made the 2nd ith bow, but he was really uptite so i only talked to him every once in a while. he got away scott free, i dunno about everyone else...
