Know your rights. If you KNOW a cop is overstepping his boundaries, just refuse. They KNOW when what they're doing is unlawful, it's just most of the time turds don't. Tell them know, explain you KNOW your rights, and refuse. They CAN NOT, and WILL NOT force you to do something unlawful. If they try, report them.

"a cop cant search you without a very good reason and u can just refuse to be searched if u want. if u dont mind being searched go ahead."

No, they cannot. Here in the states, anyway. A cop has NO right to search you unless they see physical evidence something illegal can be in the car, but even then, they MUST obtain a warrant. If the judge doesn't feel like issueing one, you have every right to refuse and be on your way. The first step to fighting unjust pigs is knowing your rights. You have every right to refuse an unwarranted search, no matter the circumstances. Say "No. You do not have a warrant and you have no reason to search me. I know my rights, and I refuse." They WILL back off. If they don't, simply turn them in.

Rob that is true, you can refuse the search. As unfortunate as it sounds, an officer is allowed to detain you temporarily (i did say that last time) if you refuse a "top layer" search. What I meant by that is... you have nothing to worrie about if you dont have anything illegally in your possesion. You shouldnt refuse if you have nothing to worrie about. The third time you get stopped in a month around the same spot is when you have something to complain about. (hopefully enough of something for anyone to give a sh*t about n e way)

Basically cooperate or prepare for OfficerHardass to ruin a bigger part of your day. And every-other day that he finds you.

Even after all this is said, there are a lot of extreemly annoying (yet currently lawful) things you can do to take care of a problem temporarily n e way. One of my favorite weapons is those little glass viles of pure funk. Smells like a dead skunks a**hole.

If he does something to you, and your unable to retaliate through the system... Do the same to him.

Lol, you don't know the law, do you? Here in Florida, they have 15, and you're expected to count them, 15 minutes to get a warrant. If they don't have one in 15 minutes, you are legal to ride away. How do I know this? I had to go to traffic school. A black, retired state trooper told the class. "If your stopped and they can't get a warrant in 15 minutes, ride off. You'll be perfectly legal and if he stops you again, tell him you know the laws and he will back off. I guarantee it."

Never give in, even if you're 100% legal. Why? Because when you do, the cops get fuel added to their fire. Why should you let ANYONE search you for no reason? Even if you know you're 100% legal? It's unlawful, and unconstitutional(assuming you're state-side). Know your rights and live by them. Giving in is unpatriotic as far as I'm concerned.

and what exactly do you do for a living that puts you in a more credible position than a law officer ? Especially cuz your the one "in trouble"...
Cuz a perfect GPA wouldnt even help [if your still in school]

And wasnt being hassled by the cops the problem to begin with ?

It takes balls to bring legal trouble against a Law Officer, and 3x as much evidence (or weight on your side of the scale, so to speak)

The bottom line is this, no matter who you are, and no matter what you may or may not have done. If you have no reason to hide something, then stop hiding. You and I might not agree w/ that kind of idea... but the cops/judge and whomever will certaily see it like that.

i dont know where you people live, but even in this small place of mine if any one of you were a cop for more than a year youd turn into a peice of shit too. i smoke plenty of grass and enjoy other activities so im no fan of the 5-0. but if you really think about it... 90% joined the force with a good heart and a straight head, and at best you can hope maybe 40% keep their cool throughout every day of their career. I said a while ago in my firt responce here that a parent and gov't official need to be involved. and you wont even get that far without a seriouse situation, and prove beyond doubt.

everything todays world provides us is usually the lesser evil we were forced to choose, an a handfull of people on a D2Sector thread are hardly going to make a difference.

Right now, I'm a student. I'm going to school and i'm "getting the job done." Any work I do is strictly for gas money and/or party supplies.

Look, man, I got long hair. I'm a teenage kid who drives a low-riding car. I blast metal/classic music. You think I have enough stereotypes? Cops pull me over just because of what I drive and what I look like. Do you think i'm going to ****ing give in to them? Typical scenerio when and if I get pulled over:

"'Evening, sir"
"Hows it goin, 'officer?"
"Fine, fine, do you know how fast you were going"
"45, max 46 in a 45, why do you ask?"
"oh, just a routine traffic stop. mind if I look around?"

Mind you, i'm on my way home. I am totally sober, have no drugs and/or alcohol visible, or hell, more than 90% of the time, even in the car. But, let's pretend I got my hair down, some say.. CCR or Hendrix goin', and my buddies in the car. Teenagers in a car blasting rock music. Stereotypes point to drugs, even though there's nothing involved.

I have my rights and I know them. Give in? Hell no. He has no right to even ask to search me, much less do it. If I give in, It makes the pigs think they have power over us. Ignorant little tools who know nothing about the law-- and hence, makes that old cliche "the law is above the law" so 100% true. It's stupid to give in. Especially when you're not even in the wrong.

Son, we're gonna disagree on this. I respect cops for the job they do and the risks they take, but they have no right to be above the law or try to be. Period.

They have all the rights to arrest you. Im trying to think of the word its called Lottering(sp?)

Example: Your at the music store and they see your there for along time or just plain dont want you there, they can call the cops and you can go to jail. Thats in all the states in U.S. as i know of.

I've been told that by a cop because i was hanging out infront of a mall.
#70
Loittering is illegal, but is very lax. Most of the time, unless the owners don't like it, nobody says or does anything. Ever. Loittering is cluttering a place where you're unwanted-- a music shop typically isn't involved. Music shops most of the time encourage regulars. They can only arrest you if you've had prior warnings.
#71
im not saying they have the right to do so, but having the right to do something (or not having it) is usually the last thing that gets involved in a situation like this. im not denying that you know your rights, and you dont have to give in... but im tellin you they are easily within their boundries (set by the people you will have to report them to) when they ask you to step out of the vehicle, or feel the need to put you in the back of theirs. There is not solution to the problem at hand because you will always have to wait a while b4 you retaliate (ie: after your booked,released,tickeded...w/e)

fortunatly for me i've only been recently stopped for my brake light [btw i had no physical ID, registration... or even shoes on... heh]but he let me go because i had a handfull of wire handy in the glovebox and explained my sorry excuse.

i was arrested behind MickyD's one night but they messed up bad [wrong jurisdiction 'sp' , unecisary force, paperwork failure]
so- the charges of obstruction, assult, evading, and posession turned into a paraphanalia (bowl) summons... luck me i only got 1 year of ATL or somethin like that. i kept out of trouble for 365 and they wiped it from my rec.

I WISH I HAD GRABBED A COPY OF THE DRIVE-THRU CAMERA TAPE !
not for legal reason, just sh*ts an giggles...
#72
They can't arrest you if you don't let them search you unlawfully. If I had a bowl, blotters, shrooms, or beer in my floorboard, they'd have every right to search me, and i'd have to give in. Unfortunately, this is NEVER the case, but yet they always insist. It's bullshit. You're right I have every right not to give in, and I never will. Nobody should ever give in.
