-% resist does not work on bosses.
A good alternative if you don't want to use expensive gear for a bone necro or hammerdin, would be a good skelemancer. Just use full trang's, arm or leoric, mara's, 2x soj, whatever boots you want, etc etc.... Easy, cheap but boring way to kill diablo clone.
