Is D2 doomed?

Well Immortal or not it still costs blizz $ to keep up B.Net, and if d2 sales arent keepin up there, well I'm not so sure theyll want to spare the capacity for D2....but then again who knows...

d2 used to be immortal(for me), but i've done just about everything there is to do, made about every build, hunted dclone(and made about 400-500 bucks off selling anni's). and, thats the main thing i played it for was the money, but after their patch, it made it much harder to get into certain ip's, and it cut off the money i was making, and since then it has just been really boring, i still have all my stuff, i just only play like 1 time a week...or 2.

I dont play d2 anymore nubli but it boring after 7 years of playing.

But i loved the game when i first got it just because i dont play doesnt mean it not a good game.

Any game that cost 50 bucks and will get 7 years out of me is pretty damn good.

Sorry but you got the numbers a bit wrong,, 7 yaers ago the developement started 5 years ago the first beta was finnished but it wasnt released to the public.. D2 Classic was released 2000

Anyway back to topic,, with al the private realms apearing I think d2 will still be around for a long time just like D1 was and still is,, there are meny people still playing Hellfire

Then there are the devoted players who propably will keep playing from time to time for 15 years

only way d2 would get doomed is if... hackers completely got ahold of the realms and made it like gay hacked open, bots and stuff are cool but if it got to that point where everyone can have 999999999999to9999999999999 dmgs weapons... then d2 would be doomed.

I figure as long as another diablo doesn't come out most people will keep playing this as long as they add new items in patches and keep the ladder reseting so the game doesn't get boring with everyone having hammerdins that do 14k-16k.

Dont forget how annoying ebayers can get, ya know I just made an IK barb and I remember when they were REALLY good, now theres all these retards parading around their BoTDs, HoTOs, CTAs, Enigmas and whatnot.....it gets really annoying to duel characters completely composed of runes words that cost as much on ebay as I make in a week
