First: Grammar-nazi? This is about spelling, not grammar.
Second: Suicidal? No. Where did you get that?
Third: English major? Like I said about 10 posts back; I'm 17. Hardly old enough for a major in any field.
Fourth: Yes, I suppose it is indeed important, really to be able to understand the people. But more often than not they aren't misspelling on purpose. This makes me sad. 3/4 of the people that post on here with their lack of ability to spell are over the age of 16. Not that 16 is some barrier you break through and suddenly are able to spell. But.. I guess what I'm saying is.. most people here passed middle school. Correct? In theory, now, most people here should know how to spell. Why don't they? They choose not to know how. Why? That... that is a mystery that has yet to be solved.
Edit: If you want to flame me, take it to flame wars... or jokes and pokes and reopen a Tichondrius87 vs. Kellard thread that is already littered with flaming. Please don't ruin my thread. Thanks.

Well, then for white-collar, high brow people like yourself,Kellard, spend more time in political, scientific, philosophical, etc. forums where the members are probably more dedicated to making impressions. There you shall find what you seek. A bunch of smart-asses who can all smirk to themselves whenever the other makes an error. But on D2sector.net, we are looking at a group of kids and adults who have not dedicated their time and energy to making great impressions for the other forum members. There are some who have, but not most. So why can't you just lay off those who maybe weren't blessed with the greatest spelling abilities and focus on your own flaws?

Because they can choose not to read my thread. Ahh, the joys of the ability to think for ones own self. If you don't like this thread, don't read it. And PLEASE stop posting off-topic.

How am I posting off topic? What I have said pertains to the main goal of this topic. To find what people think of other forum members spelling abilities. Here's a perfect example of a person who is arguing an issue that isn't worth the time or energy. That's both you and me Kellard. If your intent is to try and embarrass other people on this forum because it makes you feel like more of an intellect, then you shall have another intellect, me, barge in and protect this forum from your bantering.

*Points to the title of this thread* *points to the inclusion he made on the last page of this thread* Where does flaming me fit? I don't see it.

Sorry if I have offended you, but one intent of this thread is to offend many of our forum members. Don't deny this, even if names haven't been mentioned, some people know who they are and don't want to see a bunch of smartasses sitting at their computers, speaking poorly of the members who can't spell. So, if flaming you is what I did, just consider it a small piece of pay back for what this thread could do. And don't start talking about how this thread was not meant to harm others, because that is a foolish lie.

I like how you tried so hard to try to cancel out any remark I would make about whether or not this was intended to insult people. I haven't insulted people. I've pointed two things out and corrected them. If someone is insulted by my doing that, well.. They should try harder. And you should worry more about yourself. I don't point out typos and I don't point out misspellings of large, complicated words. I point out the east ones. For example: Worshipper > wothshiper and knifes < knives. And, as was previosuly mentioned, if people don't like this thread they can go look at a different one. I'm entitled to my opinions as are they, and this is my thread that I started to express my opinion. I'm sorry you can't respect that. Now, for the last time, this thread is not about ME and what you think about ME. So please, get off of my back and post on topic.

I think as long as you can basically understand what the other person is saying, it doesn't really matter how good they spell. If the post is one big long sentence with many mistakes, then I just tell the person to type in proper english.

If you can't spell, that obviously means that you're stupid. And where are you going to go in life if you're stupid?

Let's pretend you numbskulls read the last page and STOP FLAMING. Stay on topic for God's sake. And yes, idiotic spelling does make you stupid, not lazy. Lazy people can still spell, they just don't punctuate. Bad spellers use the same amount of letters, roughly, but they can't seem to get the right ones, or get them in the right order. l337 and typos are different, I said that. I also said that spelling matters. Why would I say this? Well, children, because it is a good indicator of how smart you people are. Now why would I give a shit about that? Because you're gamers and forumers. I'm also a gamer and a forumer. You make people who have an IQ over 17 look bad because they are grouped with you in the web junky catagory. What language are you typing in? English. Try to learn it. It helps.

I bet you have a lot of friends.
And, my little chum, you didn't do it very well. You had the letters in their approximate locations and stuck to small words.

Ok this is a late reply, but here's my two cents.
Being able to spell and write and all that happy mumbo jumbo IS IN FACT important. You SHOULD care. If you don't care, then don't expect to get a job over a $20,000 salary.

Nubli's my favorite mod. The only one I used to be in contention with as far as the number of posts.. and then he didn't slow down and I did... and we were wondering what your title would be after 1000 posts. Guy with no life was one of the guesses... Ahh.. the good old days. Thank you for your on topic post, Nubli. And for backing up the literate.
