I don't really like my country. I personally think our egos are way too large and that we do throw our noses where they don't belong. We are constnatly warring other nations and I don't feel really safe or comfortable living here.
Some of you may say, "Hey, if you're so 'Anti-American' (there's a difference IMO in not supporting something and being anti something) why don't you leave?"
I would love to skip to Austrailia or the Netherlands but unfortunately I cannot. Financialy I am unable; i'm basically stil a broke kid in school. However, the day the draft gtes reinstated, bet your balls i'm gonna skip countries and say "Fxck the US of A" really fast.

Amen. Not only the propoganda that goes on in other countires, but our own. I hate watching nightly news on the major networks becuase I can never be 100% sure if we are being led on, and the stupid stories they air and the major issues they leave out.
All in all I still like living here, and everyone may think the grass is greener on the other side but every country has it's own issues (some more than others). If you move out of the states to get away from all it's problems your just relocating somewhere else that has different problems.

The grass is dead here, atleast it's legal in the Netherlands
Different strokes, it is greener elsewhere. I can't really complain, but i'd much rather be complaining from Sydney or Amsterdam

Anyone who says they'd flee the country if the draft were reinstated is not only overly paranoid but loses a lot of respect from me...if the country had such a shortage of soldiers that we had to force people to join I would be among the first volunteering. If we were truly in need of soldiers that badly then I would go willingly because I'd rather have myself out there and willing to fight and protect the freedoms of my loved ones rather than someone who is going to desert or focus on a way to get out. And they're overly paranoid because let's face it there is no need for a draft and if there was it would probably be due to another World War and you can bet that leaving this country may not do you very much good unless you head to some third world country.
As for what was said about the UN...why don't you send a letter to them and ask them what happened to the millions of dollars sent to Africa to help fight poverty during the 90's. Ask their members how big their bank accounts are and what percentage of that money actually made it to Africa to help people. What was the program called? Oil for food or something like that.
I also would like to point out how people who do not live here and even some who have never been here in their lives seem to think they know what this country is like. I'm an American and I'm damn proud to be one. And Frater, you can saw whatever you want about the government at any time, though being vulger will get you hassled a bit for public indecency, only thing that you can't say is you're going to kill the president. You will be arrested and investigated if someone hears you threaten the president and reports it.

I agree with bluebleeder. Also, people in America either hate America because they don't get their way, they believe whatever the hell their parents say or because they are too naive. Actually there are tons of reasons. I really don't understand why you are in America if you hate it so much. Would you rather go live in Mexico or India and get killed for saying you hate your country (just saying)? And XDBD, wth? Some peoples egos are there because they believe in this country. And sticking our noses where they don't belong? Every country does that, so IDK what your talking about. Oh, and financial status doesn't stop immigrants from coming into the U.S does it? If you want to leave so much, that might be something to try yes? Another thing, not everyone is meant to know what goes on, because people do crazy things, mob-mentality. I am pretty much sick of Americans hating the U.S.

I should have elaborated. If, say, a draft was started due to a war like the one we're currently in, I would not go. I would leave. I'm sorry you don't like that. If another vietnam happened and a draft started, No Ma'am, you can volunteer. I'll sit that one out.
Say, however, a war that I seen just was going on, then yes I would go and I would volunteer. My life doesn't mean a lot to me, i'm going to die. I just want to die for something I believe in. I just happen to not believe in war, almost ever. Call me a hippie or a useless stoner, that's what I basically am. I'm not fighting a government's war. Not unless I want too and I agree with it.
I think war should be enstated only when 100% necessary, and not dragged on beyond the point where it's not needed. I feel this is not the case in almost every war, and therefoer I do not support or agree with them. This is my opinion and my personal views. I got popped with an 1/8 of an ounce of maryjane and had to pay 500$ and do community service not half a year ago. Why are my personal choices, something I enjoy smoking in my own house in my own free time be held against me? Why is my business legal business? I do not like or agree with many things and I fight for what I believe for. I'm an active member of NORML and I have posted fliers , as cheezy as it is, around my area to places like the Shroomery and NORML as well as Erowid to encourage knowledge on substance safety and responsible usage. Some things just shouldn't have a law.
Yeah, my love for a few drugs, specifically pot and mushrooms, does fuel my dislike for our current setup. That's not all though, as i'm sure you guys can tell.
I'm not going to go genocide on our government or disown our troops. There's a difference from being an insensetive asshole and disagreeing. I simply disagree.

Well, if they had a draft over the stuff going on in Iraq then I'd be against it, but if they were drafting over anything that seemed an immideate threat to us then I'd be first in line.
In other words, I'd go to war in WW2, but not Vietnam.

Well first off with your view on drugs it sounds like you just want the government tailored to your specific needs. You wont get a customized government just for you unless you dominate a country yourself...
On war and the draft, if another situation like Vietnam started up there would be no draft because it's a police action and the government isn't going to be forcing people to go, yes we have changed since Vietnam. The fact of the matter is that we are so well equipped now that we can easily send troops to other countries in smaller numbers and effectively keep the peace. The only reason Iraq is in such dissaray is because they lack an effective non-corrupt police force. And saying that we've been there far too long just shows little knowledge of the situation...if we don't stay any longer the new government and the little order that remains in the country will collapse in a matter of day, maybe even over night.

Well the reason that I didn't post the source originally was the fact that I'd have to sift through pages of the site I was at when I read the things. But seeings on how you're calling me out... Give me a few mins.
