Why does no one care about this? Everyone just seems to try and sweep these events under the rug and forget about them. I'm not saying that the war is good or bad or that something should or should not be done about this. I just want people to be aware of this. Innocent people dying every day and no one cares? Is it because it is not happening in America or have we just become desensitized to such act of violence?

I do care, I actually read about as many events such as this as I can. Death is death, but the thing is, if death happens to someone closer to you, or in a area nearer to you, it has a greater impact. It is like this for all human beings, only to different degrees.

I'm sorry to tell you that Americans pay a lot of attention to what is going on in other countries. I know lots and lots of people that look this stuff up. Also the government (including the military) look what is happening all over the world to see what is going on. They look because they want to know how it will affect us and the world. We also look at the world because remember we are the world police. So all of you that say americans need to pay more attention should reconsider the facts and do some research. The people that don't care are those civilians that just got to work everyday and do not care about anything else.

The world, this country included, will never be free of poverty. We have so many programs in place that help the needy and homeless, yet so many of them refuse this help or are too proud to ask for help. I hate to say, but most of those in poverty are there from their own choices.

What I am saying is that yeah we care, when the media stuffs it down our throat we care. I guarantee if the media didn't shove the 2004 tsunami down our throat noone would have cared. Ask a normal person who the attorney general is, they won't even know even though Gonzales is in trouble. Why would we know what is going on around the world if we don't even know what goes on in our own borders.

That is because organizations such as red cross take 'their percentage' from the funds and make billions of dollars off the ppl dying. And that is corperate America not caring.
