I think it is a shame more Americans don't pay more attention to what's going on in other parts of the world.

I'm sorry to tell you that Americans pay a lot of attention to what is going on in other countries. I know lots and lots of people that look this stuff up. Also the government (including the military) look what is happening all over the world to see what is going on. They look because they want to know how it will affect us and the world. We also look at the world because remember we are the world police. So all of you that say americans need to pay more attention should reconsider the facts and do some research. The people that don't care are those civilians that just got to work everyday and do not care about anything else.

Funny though that we send troops to protect others,as well as billions of dollars to help others.

Isn't it though? And I must say it's not the first time.
