HELP!! diablo 2 exp cd broke in drive

My diablo 2 exp cd broke in my cd drive. I dont know what happened, it like exploded. Well, is there anyway i can play without getting a new cd?? any comments are greatly apreciated.

I dont know how it happened. I had d2 loaded and I looked at the tv for a minute, then I heard like a loud pop, looked at my pc and there was lil bits of cd shrapnel sticking outa the drive. I tried to use a no cd loader, but when i click on the .exe it doesnt do anything. It just sits there.

how fast is the drive? that sometimes happens with high speed cd drives

it has to be like +54x for that to happen and it would have to be running at +54x which (i think) all drives dont, just that 54x is the top speed it can go

sorry for this man i know how this happened the disk become to be so hot and than boom this happened to me too and i open the cd room and i saw the **** broken to many .

i take the disk from my frined he left the game.

but u get get a crack that give you to play with out **** try to find it on kazza or something.

or better yet you could use daemon tools. it acts as an extra cd drive and run cd images. not only is it more conveniant but its actually faster than having the cd in the drive. just borrow the cd from your friend and copy the cd image and use daemon tools

Aside from trog's suggestion, as good as it may be, d2loader should work fine unless u got some LoD shrapnel stuck in ur puter..... neways ever seen mythbusters? yeah well they showed that high speed cdroms can cause a cd to deform and explode, usually with enough force to impale a man....sux doesnt it? Thats why i dont get above 48x cd drives

this has happened to me, lucky it was a cd copy so i just got a loader. anyway if a cd did impale a person it wouldnt go in far

i can see it now lol. anywayz i play my d2 game with no cd. it works for like 5 hours then its like wtf? u have no cd in here and drops lol.

Many game companies will send you a new CD if you talk to ther CSR people. I know that one of my CDs for RedAlert got broken in half, and i just emailed thier CSR people. They told me to send them the remains of the CD and a check or m/o for $2 and they would send me a new copy of that particular CD. It's a life saver when your addicted to games ^_^.

actualyl yes the cds do explode in the cd drives that is why u should get 48 or lower

if u got a 54 or higher its not very smart but yeah if somone has a covered computer it wont imaple them but if it has no cover like some people it cna imaple far enough to kil you depending on where ur cpu is

yea, I HAD a 56x cd drive. It's completely trashed now tho. o well my step dad has lots of cd drives, i got a much lower speed in now. I also found 1 of my old cd's i had before i quit the first time. So its all good. Thanks for the comments yall
