good rpgs are on both gamecube and ps2, the system that dosent have much for rpgs is xbox. i think ff 10 and baten kiatos are =. but ff7 i do think is the best console rpg of all time
the best rpg of all time is of course diablo 2

Stumbled across this thread and was appalled by this post...

Best RPGs include Star Wars: KoTOR (Both), FF7, FF: Tactics, Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, oh yes and FF6. These are just my opinions of course.

D2 holds nothing over those other games other than online play. In which case the online play is just playing the single player with people yelling at you for taking the uniques or just want to do nothing but duel. If you think an RPG should be based on fast based action and mindless gameplay that apparantly even my sister can master...then yes D2 is a great game but I feel it's lost the luster it once had from back when all I wanted was to smash things. FF games have a much more intense and immersive story than either Diablo game. Not only are all these games much more complex and difficult than D2 but they have so much more character development, well Vampire not quite so much as the others, that really makes you feel a connection with the characters you're watching. And character development and establishing a connection is one of the most important thing about writing. In D2 you never establish this connection or even a sense of who your character is, probably why there is no real RP on D2 or Battle.net period.
